Our Victorian flat is in a charming neighborhood and only a 15 min walk will take you downtown. Enjoy the many coffee shops, restaurants and cute boutiques in the area. The cable car runs right in front – it doesn't get more SF than that!
Nob Hill is in the heart of SF and is one of the best neighborhoods in the city. It is close enough to downtown that you can walk there, but far enough not to feel "touristy". It has the perfect combination of convenience (with major grocery stores and little markets, hardware stores, shoe repair, etc.) and some of the best coffee shops and restaurants in the city. It is a perfect starting point for many city hikes:
– Polk Street -> Ghirardelli square -> the Maritime National Historic Park -> the crooked Lombard Street -> Fisherman's Wharf
– Grace Cathedral -> Chinatown -> North Beach -> Washington Square Park
– Union Square -> Market Street -> Ferry Building
There is so much to do and to be discovered around here.
Union Square and downtown area are 15 minutes walking.
The historic California cable car runs right out of the apartment. It's a fun way to get downtown through Chinatown and the Financial District.
It is also easy to transfer the the Powell cable car which goes to the Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square.
Muni line 1 stops a block away on Sacramento St and goes to Golden Gate Park and Land's End.
Muni line 49 (stop is two blocks away on Van Ness Ave) goes to the Mission neighborhood passing by historic sites such as the Armory.
Muni line 47 (stop is two blocks away on Van Ness Ave) goes to the Caltrain station: a quick trip away from the Silicon Valley and Stanford University.
Muni lines 19 and 27 also stop within a block from the apartment.

My wife and I moved to San Francisco about four years ago from our home city of Sofia, Bulgaria. We are working professionals in our late 20s and we absolutely enjoy living in lovely San Francisco. We are die hard foodies, music fans and travelers. We enjoy seeing live music shows and drinking wine. We're always up for adventures and exploring new places.
We are happy to have people over and build relationships. We are friendly, but respect people's privacy. Hosting guests in our home is something we like doing and will always help with local tips and suggestions.
