One of two bedrooms available. Quiet community a short mile from downtown Northampton (20-25 minute walk). Abutting acres of conservation land, with meandering, tree-lined trails towards, and along Mill River. Close to Smith College (fifteen minute walk to campus.)
Access to bike path. Dedicated bathroom for guests -- if the other bedroom is occupied, note that bathroom is shared.
Quiet. This bright room with eclectic charm is especially suitable for a guest traveling alone. Curl up amongst the pillows on the day bed, or enjoy the soothing motion of the vintage rocker. A trundle is tucked under the day bed -- making a second twin-size bed. So possibility for a second person to sleep. (Note that space is tight when both beds are open; it works for guests, especially, who have full days of plans. With both beds open, there is no spare room to hang out.)
Note: Separate booking required to secure both rooms: for the other room, look up "Spacious. Serene, walk to downtown"
Guests share a dedicated full bathroom separate from hosts. There's also a half-bath on the landing right outside the bedroom.
You may take your morning tea/coffee on the east-facing front porch.
A small park adjacent to the house invites quiet reflection or reading. (Recent guests enjoyed picnic on the flat rocks looking out over hundreds of acres of woods and meadows.)
No fuss. We look forward to meeting you and offering breakfast!
We moved to the area in 2012, and love it here! We're happy to tell you about places to explore, areas of interest, activities, and good places to eat!
Our home is set up European-style, with a WC (half-bath) on the landing outside the bedrooms. A full bath, dedicated for guests, is located on the ground level. You can take a shower late at night, or early in the morning, without concern about disturbing anyone. (Terry robe provided.)
There's soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a hair dryer for your use in the bathroom.
We keep a quiet house after 10:00pm and until 7:30am.
(That is by no means a "curfew"! We just ask that guests keep voices low and shoes off if returning late at night.)
Since the full bath is set apart from the bedrooms, you can relax about showering late, or early: you won't cause a disturbance.)
No smoking, please.
We strive to be environmentally conscious and, while we appreciate the wonders of indoor climate control, we heat and cool moderately.
We cannot accommodate more guests than two in each room.

I enjoy new experiences, and I love my home. Offering hospitality with AirBnB gives me both! I strive to make our home attractive and welcoming, and appreciate receiving the variety of guests drawn to Northampton for a myriad reasons.
We relocated to Northampton in the summer of 2012, and absolutely love the area! The pace, the people, the scale, the scenery, the opportunities for walking and biking, the arts, the food! I could go on! We enjoy sharing our discoveries and offering tips to visitors, about places to eat and where to explore.
I grew up in Europe, and was fortunate for the chance to travel early and often, and to meet people of different cultures and background from mine. Hosting guests brings back echoes of that experience. It keeps life interesting and fresh.
(As an endorsement of Northampton and surroundings, in all my adult life, among all the places I've lived in the US, this is where I feel most at home. It's no small thing to find a sense of place and belonging.)
I'm a lifelong avid reader. I keep fit by running, and access serenity by knitting (I kid you not). I spend a lot of quality time with my husband Todd; hanging out, talking and reading, or taking walks on the lovely trails by our home, never tiring of the magical effect of the sun filtering through tall trees. We go for long bike rides, with lunch as our destination and reward. Todd and I like to entertain, make good food, and bring people together.
