Lumholtz Lodge is Margit’s spacious 2-storey home that she shares with guests on 160 acres of private rainforest. The lodge is for your use exclusively, no other guests are taken during your stay, ensuring the bed and breakfast experience is comfortable and private. The only other residents are the abundant, endemic wildlife that often wanders in. The Atherton Tableland is the centre of bio-diversity in the Wet Tropics. See what animals you may encounter in and around Lumholtz Lodge.
"Where nature wanders in”, is not just a slogan, it’s the perfect description of what guests will experience first hand at Lumholtz Lodge. You will enjoy the birdlife and unique rainforest animals that live around and sometimes in the lodge. Lumholtz Lodge is your home away from home, with the entire house at your disposal. The most unique feature is the actual wildlife visiting. This might well be the only place in Australia where you can see rare upland rainforest animals, especially the amazing Lumholtz's tree kangaroo. Enjoy your host's knowledge of the wildlife and wonders of this region.
LL is situated very centrally on the Tabelands and the towns of Atherton, Malanda, Yungaburra, Herberton , Ravenshoe as well as the National Parks and waterfall circuits are only about 30 minutes drive from LL.
The house is yours exclusively, including an extensive nature library, DVD's and publications. Every room of the house is yours to enjoy, including wonderful paintings and artwork. Relax in the sauna or lounge in the garden area.

To live in the Wet Tropics Area of Qld is a privilege. I am a wildlife carer, looking after tree kangaroos , most people don't even know they exist. I love sharing " my world" with guests and educate them to learn more about the unique wildlife that lives in these upland rainforests.
