I am a retired telecom engineer living in El Salvador with my wife Sarai. I Love cooking, fishing, scuba diving and soaking up the sun sitting in the water albeit salt or fresh water. Sarai was born in El Salvador and I am from Canada. We both love seafood, especially shrimp. Sarai is a very friendly woman who is easy to make smile and laugh, she does not drink or smoke but I like a nice Cuban cigar and a glass of scotch every now and then. We both believe in a live and let live policy and we are non confrontational quiet people who practice conservation and recycling. We both love nature and the outdoors, photography, plants and birds, our Labrador neron and our two tortoises, Lodi and Toby. Of course we love kids and we have our own 3 boys all grown up, 1 in Canada studying, one in university in El Salvador and one running his own restaurant. El Barranco was designed and built 8 years ago on Sarai's and my visions it is a unique design that shows our open concept about life and the way we live. It's our jewel in El zonte and we are always making little changes and keeping up the upkeep. We welcome you and although sarai speaks no English she is an excellent Spanish teacher and can teach some Spanish as well as show you how to make papusas or tortillas if you like. We are both here to answer any questions you might have. I speak fluent English, French and Spanish and have traveled across most of the world in my career. I ejoy meeting new people, we have owned and operated restaurants in Guatemala and in El Salvador so we know our way around the kitchen pretty good and always happy to show off some of our culinary talents. If your looking for something a little different then just another beach place, with more of a local scene and off the beaten track then this is probably it. Of course the beach or some of the backpacker stomping grounds is always a nice place to go to and that's why we are not very far from all of that.
