In the heart of the wonderful city of Marsala, two steps from the sea and 10 minutes from the landing stage to Favignana and the beautiful Egadi Islands, Scalilla Palace, a sixteenth century residence, stands out!!!
Scalilla Palace finds itself on the corner between Santa Caterina Street and Scalilla Street. It is a building that dates back to the XVII Century and that has been recently renovated to meet the guests’ requirements without losing its original features.
Our Bed & Breakfast is not a small hotel with all identical rooms, but it is rather an out-and-out house where guests can enjoy their holidays in contact with the local environment and where they can share the terrace, arrange barbecues and relax in the sun or enjoy the privacy of their rooms, each one unique in its style, with its colours, its furniture and its peculiarities.
PINK PEPPER (PEPE ROSA)
As the spice name suggests, this room is characterised by pink shades: the high ceilings, typical of elegant old houses, are hemmed by stuccos, which creates patterns and frames on the old-looking walls.
The furniture is all made of period pieces: the wardrobe, dating back to the Nineteenth Century, belonged to the ancient family that once owned the Palace; the ancient mirror and the sofa with the armchairs belonged to a local Marsala family.
The room benefits from ancient touches of class hailing from the wrought-iron bed and bedside tables, renovated in Shabby stile with feather-bed.
The room is very bright and the windows in English style front onto the wrought-iron balcony.
The room is very big and can accommodate an additional third adult bed or two additional small beds for kids. We would like to remind you that, in our bargain policy, children under the age of 12 are hosted for free.
The bathroom is adjacent to the room and private for the Pink Pepper guests.
The common area and the terrace
We can also organise for you: transfers from Trapani airport, which is 15km far from the Palace, and from Palermo airport, 100km far away, car rental or bike rental to move in complete autonomy on the island and reach the most beautiful tourist attractions – such as the archaeological sites of Selinute and Segesta or the beautiful Erice.
You will be welcomed with open arms and we will recommend you the restaurants that we love the most, the most popular clubs among the nightlife lovers as well as the most renowned sail and kite schools.
The guests with children can ask for the babysitting service.
Breakfast is served in the room next to the kitchen, furnished with tables made with local artistic ceramic and with the brick kitchen. For those who would like it, there is also the option to have breakfast in the veranda.
Breakfast is typically Mediterranean: every day, guests will have the possibility to taste local specialities like the delicious “cornetti” (soft croissants filled with cream or jam) and the famous “cannoli”, typical Sicilian sweets with wafer filled with ricotta cheese, candied fruit and chocolate crumbs. Finally, we will never run out of yogurt, toasts, jams and fresh juices. Sicily is the island of the citrus fruits, which means that fresh-squeezed orange juices will be a must for all visitors. You will also have the choice between a selection of coffee, tea and infusions.
We will be at your disposal to arrange breakfast so that it is suited to guests who suffer from celiac diseases or to those with food intolerances or allergies. Let us know about any of your necessities and we will do our best to find the right alternative for you.
