I really enjoyed this house, very centrally located with an easy walk to town. The house itself was a little difficult to locate off the street at first but we were very pleased with the accommodations. It was comfortable with many areas of the house to sit and relax as a small group. Another thing that was quite nice was that the caretaker for the house brought in a gas grill for us to use right after we arrived.

Stay away from this house (until it receives a little TLC!). How unfortunate that our first time renting through Air BNB was disappointing, unpleasant, and ended up being a negative experience. We are a family of five (plus a baby grandson) meeting in Nantucket for a vacation. Immediately, it became clear that this “potentially” charming house was poorly maintained, musty, in disrepair, and not prepared for our stay. We did not expect to be renting a home and have a steady stream of workers coming and going. Over the course of our relatively brief 7-day stay, we had visits from an appliance repair man (who came to fix the broken washer and dryer – an essential with a baby!), the cable company (who came to fix two of the four TVs, which were not working), and gardeners (who came to clean cigarette butts, beer cans, weeds, and piles of leaves out of what looked as though it could have been a beautiful garden). What was even more intrusive was that on three separate occasions during our stay realtors showed up unannounced to show the house and property while we were home. Our host never warned us that these visits would take place! The house was also entirely unprepared for our family when we got there, with the caretaker rushing to deliver outdoor furniture and the gas grill after we had arrived (in addition to the myriad issues discussed above); none of this was taken care of prior to our arrival. The list of problems with the house itself is long, and included a broken sofa, broken bedframe, clogged shower, bugs crawling in through the rotten wood at the bottom of the screen door, and storm windows dangerously close to falling from the second floor. The house also rents its garage to seasonal restaurant workers who left garbage bags adjacent to the entrance and walkway to the property. During our stay, they even woke up the baby one night by playing loud music at 3 a.m. To his credit, the host was responsive to our calls while we were in the house and did his best to remedy the acute issues that we identified during our stay (e.g. the broken washer and dryer). Still, it was disappointing that the house was not in an appropriate condition for our arrival and it was highly inconvenient that these repairs had not been completed before our stay, instead imposing on our family vacation. Even the key to the house was not available upon our arrival! Upon our return, our calls to discuss these negative experiences with the host were met with hostility. Bottom line, though it is entirely understandable that some issues may arise with any house and accommodations may need to be maintained periodically, we were thoroughly disappointed with the state of the property (especially given the photos we saw online), the preparation of the house, and the repeated intrusions on our limited family time, as well as the host’s reaction to our...

As soon as Amy notified us of issues that were going on at the property we sent over the caretaker to look into the problem. The cleaning lady was also sent to the property to clean any areas she had problems with. When it was discovered that the washing machine was broken we arranged for her laundry to be done by our cleaning service in order to not inconvenience her while we were getting the laundry machine repaired. We were immediately responsive and tried to rectify any and all issues in a timely manner. The cable issues were really just a matter of rebooting the equipment As this is the very beginning of the season in Nantucket the realtor was not aware that the house was occupied. He should have checked first and was very apologetic. He had two more showings to the same people afterwards that he informed the tenant of in advance. No one had the impression that this was significant issue with Amy at the time. We acknowledged that the outside areas of the house had not been properly cleaned and prepared for summer. We promised Amy that we would take care of this and that’s where workmen were working. They were not trampling through the house all week. We worked our hardest with our contractors to ensure things were taken care of. To our knowledge all of the issues that she brought to our attention were addressed in a timely manner. We take pride in our properties and try to ensure that our guests enjoy their stay. Because of Amy's problems we said we would discount the rental fee in compensation. I actually tried to call her several times yesterday but could not reach her. Her response here is what we got back instead. We have and do apologize for any and all inconveniences these issues may have caused Amy and her guests. We have taken extra steps to ensure that the property is in top condition and that any and all issues are fixed moving forward. The current tenant that is in place at the property is very happy and has let us know that the property is to their liking. -Lina Property Manager

Great location and a beautiful house! Walking distance to town and plenty of room in the house to relax. We were there for Stroll to we didn't get the chance to use the yard but looks like a great yard for BBQ's.
