The owner's house is next door, in a separate building and separated by a large private terrace; so they will provide access and anything else which is needed during the guests' stay. The owner's house has its own separate entrance off the road. Guests are welcome to come and ask for anything or equally welcome to stay at their end of the property where the swimming pool is located, coming and going via their own entrance and using the pool as they please. The house and apartment sit in 1800 square metres of garden. So there is plenty of space for everyone! The pool and apartment are adjacent to each other.
Tarragona is a beautiful old Roman town, which has been well preserved. It features lively bars and decent restaurants. The beaches are plentiful and well looked after. Recently the former commercial port has been modified for super yachts and provides an interesting area to walk around in the day or evening, with restaurants and bars. There is free parking for up to an hour for non diners and deals for those eating in the port area who wish to park for longer.
There are lots of snow sports options in winter towards and within the Pyrenees. Climbing and rafting have become popular in the more local mountain ranges. Around 30-45 minutes drive by car.
Wine tours are particularly appealing in the nearby Priorat, Montsant and Penedes - the home of Cava. The Cava producers in the town of Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, such as Codorniu and Freixenet, offer regular daily wine tours for a small fee which usually includes a tasting.
Other days out include visits to Montserrat, a mountain with volcanic form which is home to a well known historic monastery. Here can be found plenty of paid for parking and reasonably priced local cuisine. The Ebro Delta is a drive south and features unspoilt beaches and lots of wildlife, including flamingos and Audouin Gulls. For thrill seekers the well known Port Aventura theme park is a 20 minute drive away, along with a large separate water park and the just opened Ferrari Land theme park.
Treat our apartment as you would treat your own home! Keep in mind it is the Mediterranean and the garden is dry, be very careful with anything flammable. Anything you need to know, please ask.
I grew up in the local Tarragona area with my granny and auntie, enjoying the beaches, mountains and old town. I now live in the UK most of the year. I opened an Airbnb account a while back, but have only just started to use it regularly. I am fairly easy going, quite work focused and like to help others.
