Only 5 miles from the coast, our converted detached barn enjoys lovely views over the South Hams countryside. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard retaining many of the original features, ensuring a very comfortable home from home.
This single story barn conversion is part of an exclusive development of 8, such properties. The barns once formed the outbuildings of Collaton Farm and inside retain some of the original features such as beams and exposed stone walls. Decoration is simple and largely contemporary throughout, reflecting the look and feel of natural colours and wood. Our property is the only detached property and enjoys the benefit of a large enclosed garden, laid to lawn with a few flowering plants and shrubs. From the lawn you can enjoy views over the neighbouring South Hams countryside. There is also a patio which is not overlooked and receives direct sunshine for most of the day and so is great place to relax in privacy. Every summer the development is lucky enough to be revisited by migratory swallows which nest in the car port and provide daily aerobatic displays! We love the location of this property as it provides easy access to both the coast and countryside. And, when its not rented out to guests we like to use it as our second home.
The property is best suited to a max of 4 adults plus one child and one baby, or a combination of fewer adults and more kids. Guests have sole access to the entire property, which comprises, two bedrooms: a master room with a king bed and space for a cot, plus a small room with a tri-bunk( single bed on top and double bed below); a fully fitted kitchen; a bathroom with shower over bath; a large lounge/dining room. The cottage has large private garden with a lawn area and patio complete with garden furniture and a BBQ. The property also has two reserved off road parking spaces.
In advance of guest stays, regular communication by phone and email is common. During a stay, advice and support is always available by phone, including in the event of emergencies, when for property related issues, a personal visit can be arranged. A comprehensive written guide relating to the property and local area, in terms of local services and amenities, what to do etc. is made available for guests.
And, on arrival, we always like to provide a welcome refreshment basket to help you settle in after your journey.
We have offered our property for rent for the last 10 years and have consistently enjoyed hosting many families and couple of all ages, several of whom return.
A MINIMUM 3 NIGHT BOOKING IS ALWAYS REQUIRED OR 5 NIGHTS DURING ANY SCHOOL HOLIDAY (please enquire re school holidays however, as we may be able to accommodate you).
Guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi and Sky (satellite TV) .
Towels (except beach towels) and linen (excluding for cots) are included in the price.
The property is designated non-smoking and guests are requested to observe this requirement.
Guests are not allowed to bring pets unless with prior permission.
Guest are not allowed to exceed the maximum occupancy of 4 (plus one baby) (inc. children). 5 may be possible if party includes 3 children.
Boats and caravans cannot be brought on site.
This property is a second home and we kindly request that guests treat it respectfully and leave it in the good condition found on arrival.
