A sizable room in a converted 1920's garage in downtown Santa Barbara with private access to an adjoining bathroom shared with other guests. Singles and couples welcome, no friends traveling together in the high season of March through October. A block from a fun neighborhood with a great coffee shop, yoga and homemade ice cream. Close to everything! Parking is on the street within the block - and free. One heads up - I do not provide towels.
An eco-retreat in the heart of Santa Barbara - access to downtown by car or bike is minutes away, and you can also get to the beach in 10 minutes, the freeway to get back onto your next destination is three blocks away - but the space is still quiet, spacious and entirely earthy in feel. Please note that the room shares a wall with the bathroom, which is also used by two other guest rooms. The nightly price has been adjusted to reflect that there is noise from that proximity to the bathroom. If you want a very quiet room, please look for my listings 'Downtown Bedroom with Shared Bath' or 'Small Downtown Room.'
I absolutely believe in affordable, restful vacation overnights. I personally try to spend the least on hotels when I travel, so I can spend money on the more memorable indulgences of food and activities. With that in mind, I host Airbnb to offer Santa Barbara stays at a reasonable price.
And truthfully, in return, I look for it to be super simple on my end, too! So I don't provide towels or all the other B & B goo gah. I just provide the room, a key, a list of things to do, and the encouragement that you be quiet when you come and go, peaceful in your stay. And leave it relatively clean - that would be great, too!
You enter a small courtyard and access your bedroom which is the yellow converted garage. Simple!
The bathroom has a claw foot tub, sink, toilet - your basics.
So no kitchen use available and preferably no food prep in the room. You could eat something take out at the patio table outside.
You can self-check in easily after noon and please check out by 9 am weekdays and 10 am weekends.
I am a friendly but contained person and the rental is designed for you to have the benefit of the mellow vibe while also having your own private and inclusive space. To relax in!
I am welcoming and grateful for your 'business'. I'm a long term and grateful Airbnb host - I love having foreign travelers and other vacationers here because you bring the relaxed and joyful energy of being on an adventure. I have some practical rules to make other guests and neighbors happy, but I'm also pretty relaxed and do everything I can to keep your lodging costs at the lowest end of Santa Barbara vacation stays. I promise you that this place is not a dump, despite it being affordable! It's just a good deal :)
I appreciate simplicity and quiet and considerateness and so I also try to offer that. But please never doubt I am available to help, whether with the room accommodation or touring through Santa Barbara. I just try to make it possible for you to arrive easily on your own, and let you set your own pace in your travels.
You'll possibly bump into the other guests in the patio area or around the use of the bathroom. I have universally attracted really friendly and respectful people. And I definitely try to price the room rental to reflect that you'll be sharing some of those spaces.
I'm happy if you text me an hour before you think you'll arrive. I'll have the room ready and you can arrive anytime after noon, even after midnight! The key will be on the doorknob, enter and make yourself comfortable. I'm available if you have concerns, but you may find everything taken care of.
Hopefully you're at a point in your journey where some retreat space feels perfect.
You can come home as late as you like, but please be mindful of the other guests when you pass through the property. * Especially be careful to not lock the other guests out of the bathroom when you're finished because you access it from your private door.
A great space for singles or couples looking for affordability and offering quietude and low key appreciation in return. Friends traveling together are not a good fit.
I'm into sobriety in my own life and definitely don't know what to make of party-hearty people anymore.
No meals in the room - a sip or a snack is one thing, but after people stained bedding and spewed crumbs, I am adding that I will seek additional fees through Airbnb if you leave a food mess.
