Come relax in our sunny spacious Tudor home in midtown Omaha.
Come relax at Twin Gables, our sunny spacious Tudor home in midtown Omaha.
We are located in the heart of the historic Country Club, arguably Omaha’s most charming neighborhood, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Our home is ideally situated between two of Omaha's favorite destinations, Benson and Dundee. We are within walking distance of some of Omaha’s best destinations for food, entertainment and drinks. Benson to our north is Omaha’s liveliest hipster hot spot and is home to a burgeoning music scene, art shows, yoga studio, bike shop, brew pubs, coffee shops and restaurants. More upscale and established Dundee is just to our south and is the perfect place for an evening out for incredible food, ice cream (even Paul McCartney had a visit), Belgian beers or simply an afternoon stroll. Downtown Omaha, the CenturyLink Center and the Old Market are just a 9 minute drive. We are also close to some of Omaha’s finest parks and trails including Memorial Park, Elmwood Park and Metcalf Park.
For those into trivia or here during Berkshire weekend, we are also located across the street from Warren Buffet’s childhood home. How about that!
The home has two rooms furnished as bedrooms, each with queen beds. The master bedroom features a spacious balcony which is the perfect place for breakfast or morning coffee. We have a full chef’s kitchen for your use including Wolf gas range, double oven, farmhouse sink, espresso machine, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The main level has a dining room, living room and TV room/office. The bedrooms share 1 full bath and there is a half bath on the main level. Cable (Smart) TV and wi-fi is available to you.
The backyard is our favorite hangout with a cozy shaded patio under a birch tree. You are welcome to use our grill if you wish to have a BBQ. Did we mention outside speakers?
There is free parking available in front of the house, in the driveway or in our 1 stall garage (includes garage door opener).
We have 2 adorable huskies, but kindly ask that you not bring any pets with you. Our pups won’t be joining you during your visit of course and you wouldn’t know we had dogs except we just mentioned it. We have hardwood floors throughout the home, but if you are especially sensitive to pets, this should be considered. The house is strictly non-smoking.
Now to disclose any possibly objectionable things: The house was built in 1928 so along with the charm, there may be an occasional quirk for those used to new homes. Some of the doors stick, bedroom doors do not have locks and not all outlets accepts three-prong plugs for example. The home has a great fireplace, but we kindly prohibit fires. If you can get by with that, you will truly have a wonderful stay.
We absolutely love our home. In fact, we consider it our dream home and hope we never move. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do and are excited for you to visit and experience Omaha.
You have the run of the show! Full kitchen, wifi, smart cable TV, backyard, patio, grill, living room, balcony, dining room...pretty much the whole shebang!
We like to be pretty hands-off with guests—We meet them with the key, recommend points of interest and restaurants in the area, and then leave them to their own plans with the reassurance that we are available 24/7 to resolve anything that could make their stay more comfortable.
