Adobe guest house in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains has easy access to Albuquerque (20 min.) and Santa Fe (35 min.). Tastefully decorated, super-charming with lots of updates, and QUIET!
Our home and guest house are adobes (cool in the summer, warm in the winter) constructed in 1980. We can walk out our front door, drop into an arroyo (a small canyon), and instantly feel connected to the wilderness.
Besides being comfortable in the guest house, visitors can enjoy our beautiful front courtyard with a water feature or hang out around our fire pit on a cool evening. We also have lots of kid-friendly play stuff, like a tree house and rope swing.
With two kids, we tend to be on-the-go quite a bit but are happy to interact with guests who want some company. We have lots of ideas about cool stuff to do in the area from mountain biking to hiking to site seeing.
If you are carbon conscious, you will be happy to hear that we recently installed a photovoltaic solar system which supplies all of our home's electricity (we are still tied to the grid). Also, our guest house is heated by a pellet stove which is very cozy and warm.
We want you to feel comfortable in the space and have lots of outdoor areas for relaxing, contemplating, or smoking. Your pets are welcome and we have a fenced area if you need it.
Michael and I have two children, ages 10 and 13 (and have lots of toys if you are bringing a child!). We spend lots of time outside and can suggest or show you places to hike or mountain bike nearby. Finally, we have a dog (Honey) and a cat (Momo) who will be happy to see you but also happy to leave you alone, if that's your preference!
