15 minutes walk from Oslo Central station. Located in the middle of the hip Torggata, lively Grünerløkka and the foodcourt Mathallen with excellent restaurants, bars and shops. The apartment is on the 1st floor, is 60 sqm and the room itself is 10. A morning run along Akerselva river is just a minute down the road together with the famous venue Blå. Feel the vibe from Oslo's biggest street art area from the kitchen window or chill in the nearby parks.
Here are some of our reccomendations on what to do in Oslo:
Musem of contemporary art – beautiful architecture. One fixed and one dynamic exhibition. You can look all the way to Oslo City Hall from here, which is aslo definitely worth a visit! Go inside and see the beautiful decorations. Check opening ours before going.
Botanical garden – you can walk to it from our place, and on the other side of the garden you find the Munch Museum. This part of the city is called Tøyen and is the newly gentrified area in the city. Grab a drink and a delicious meal at "Grådig".
Opera house – Lots of people, but worth a visit. If the weather is good, you can continue out to Sukkerbiten and Sørenga, where there is a city beach made of wood at the very end. Rent a Kayak if you like.
Vippa – old industrial area, now full of food trucks and a nice view of the sea, walk there from the opera house, and pass a floating Sauna and watch the installation SALT on the way.
Directly behind our flat, you have Damstredet with old wooden houses from 1800's, and behind there again you have the cemetery called "Vår frelsers gravlund" with lots of famous Norwegians buried, and its beautiful. Stroll down Telthusbakken after this (also old wooden houses) and end up grabbing a beer in the sun at Fyrhuset Kuba, cheapest outdoor beer in town. (you are now 5 minutes from home)
Wigelandsparken – the sculpture park is also worth a visit. If you walk there from our flat (approx. 45 mins) you will walk through a variety of neghtbourhoods from east side of town to the more majestic Fagerborg and Majorstua. Grab a lunch in the cozy backyard of Kolonihagen Frogner after visiting the park. The you can head down to the royal palace and through the queens part of the palace park on the way home.
