This tenement appartment on Leith Walk benefits from lovely morning light in the bedrooms and evening sunsets in the living room. We are well connected to transport links throughout the city (buses and trams out to the airport are at the top of the road!).
The apartment has a 'lived in' and cosy feel. Feel free to make it your home away from home. The bedroom itself is away from the road and overlooks a shared garden.
Guests are able to access everywhere except the main (my) bedroom and will get a tour upon arrival.
I'll be generally be around while guests are staying and I'm happy to answer questions and make recommendations if this would be helpful. I'd say my style of hosting is friendly but 'hands off' - allowing you to get on with life but there if you need help with anything.
A single mattress, duvet and pillow can be added to the booking (in the same room) for an additional £10/night.
Please note I work Monday - Thursday so if you plan to arrive during the day we may need to meet up during my lunch break so you can get keys. I work near the Royal Mile (in the centre of town), so will usually be able to meet but will need to plan a time with you in advance :)
Guests are welcome to use cooking equipment and crockery for meals but are asked to leave the kitchen as they found it by washing dishes and wiping surfaces clean when finished.
I am a community worker and also love films and film festivals. I've lived in Edinburgh for 10 years and am very happy here (possibly something to do with the abundance of independent cinemas?!)
Did you know you can surf in Scotland? Well you loads of places actually. That's my aim since starting to learn in Portugal this year - I hope to get along to classes soon and catch some more waves!
