It is up to guests' preferences. Both of us speak decent English. We have been kindly complimented by our friends as "a very friendly, nice and warm couple". We love our city and hope you will have a great experience here. We would be excited to give you recommendations on where to eat or visit in Hanoi. We would also love to share with you more about the Vietnamese culture and Hanoi. Finally, we will do our best to help or offer guidance to you as you explore the city.
If you are coming from the Hanoi airport to our place using taxi, make sure to confirm a fix price (they normally have a board with prices written on it) before getting into the car. It should be around $18 but no more than $25. However, we strongly recommend using Uber or Grabtaxi, their customer service is much better!
Guests will be given a separate set of keys. We expect common sense from our guests. Smoking is not allowed. If you have a pet, please inform us before booking.
I am a college math professor and my wife is a computer science engineer. I love travelling, beaches and swimming. I also really enjoy it when people from other countries visit Vietnam to explore our country, culture and food. I hope to be a positive part of their trip by offering an authentic homestay experience at our family house where we have lived in for over 20 years.
