The house is located in a quiet, off-campus student housing area, it is just a short 15-20 minutes walk to the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), Carnegie Mellon (CMU), or many of the UPMC hospitals.

This charming rowhouse was built in the 1920s has been lovingly updated and restored with many of the original features still intact. This room is located on the second floor at the back of the house with great morning sun. There is WiFi available throughout the house and guests have shared access to the kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry facilities.

This quiet section of South Oakland is a mix of long-term homeowners and student rentals. Located within easy walking distance to the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), and multiple UPMC hospitals. This neighborhood is also within easy walking distance to the 450-acre Schenley Park which has a pool, tennis courts, running trails, and more.

Oakland is the "brains" of Pittsburgh with three major universities (Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, and Carlow University) and UPMC Medical Center. Our house is located within easy walking distance to all of these institutions plus Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History, and the historic Carnegie Public Library.
In addition, Oakland's main business district has a vibrant mix of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars.

Pittsburgh has seen a "green revolution" over the past ten years. Make sure to get out on the river for a kayak paddle, hike one of our beautiful city parks (Schenley Park is just two blocks from our house), or ride one of our riverfront bike trails.

Over the past couple of years, we have opened a series of houses designed to host international and regional graduate students (and post-graduate) and medical professionals. Most of our guests stay with us for three or four weeks up to two years. The houses are designed to be communal in nature with a shared kitchen and dining area. We have hosted over 2000 guests from around the world.

Personally, we are avid travelers and have stayed in over 50 different Airbnbs in Europe and South America. From all of those experiences, we tried to bring all that we have to learn to our rentals. We want to make sure our guests have all they need to enjoy their stay in Pittsburgh and at the same time give them enough space to relax.

We pride ourselves in offering clean, cozy rooms with a touch of original art. All of our houses were built between 1897 and 1920 and many of the original features have been maintained and restored. These houses were originally the home of the local steelworkers who worked down at the J&L steel mill down by the Monongahela River.

We are very low-maintenance travelers who value authenticity over luxury. We would rather sample street food than spend money on a five-course meal in a fancy restaurant.

We are co-founders of a fair-trade project called Women of the Cloud Forest working with artisans in Nicaragua and Costa Rica.

We do not live at this location (we live 5-blocks away). This house is completely dedicated to Airbnb guests. Our interaction can vary depending on our schedules and our guests' schedules. Sometimes we cross paths frequently, sometimes guests come and go without us meeting face-to-face. We have a self-check-in process that allows guests to arrive when they like. We tend to keep busy schedules and travel frequently so interaction can vary.
