St. George Island ranks top among US beaches each year. Miles of white sand beach. Like Key West in Hemingway's days! Walk from hotel to beach, bay (for fishing), stores, bars, restaurants. Porches, rocking chairs, private bath, King beds & PETS OK
We really enjoyed our stay at the St. George Inn. Our room was clean and the location was walkable to local bars and restaurants. Melinda at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. She recommended her dog friendly favorite places in town. I would recommend the St.George Inn to friends and family.
Perfect location. We parked at the inn and then could walk across the street to the beach, and were a quick walk to several great restaurants. There is also a mini grocery store literally next door to the inn that has anything you need. Everyone we encountered was very helpful and accommodating.
The location, perfect. 50 steps to the beach, the lighthouse, and the really good food the island has to offer. The peace and quiet at night was great and the front service receptionist was super nice and extremely helpful with everything. Magnolia is perfect, the bed is huge, theres a mini fridge and microwave, nice big porch and a tv as well. The pictures on the website are super outdated so don't judge them too harsh. The whole place was renovated and is still being renovated in few parts but it was super beautiful. Would recommend to anyone 10/10
My fiancé and I stayed at the inn with our two pups. It was simple and quiet. Exactly what we wanted. It was walking distance to the beach and the few local restaurants and bars. Couldn't have asked for more.
I live in NW Florida (also known as the Forgotten Coast)... Very different from Miami, Orlando, etc. We are closer to the Key West in the days of Hemingway than to what most visitors expect from Florida. I have 2 children and live in an older (historic) home in Apalachicola.
