Little Fields is a small piece of rural heaven in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. Set just outside of Hilton, overlooking fields and pastures, this country house is 5 minutes away from amenities yet offers you a tranquil setting to rest, whether you are traveling for business or pleasure. Built in a converted barn style with ivy clad walls, the house is set in beautiful meadow like gardens and has far reaching views over a wetland, two small dams and the neighboring farm.
We offer many different bedding options from a self-catering flat with its own private entrance and garden; two family bedrooms in a separate wing of the house; or book the entire 4 bedroom house.
Take the dogs for a walk (and a swim!) around our 12 hectare small holding or relax on the veranda with its never ending views or curl up in your lounge in front of the fire, with its own dining room, DSTV and free wifi.
We are here to greet you and make sure you settle in. We can help suggest places for dinner or attractions on the Midlands Meander. We will then leave you to enjoy your stay but will be on call should you need us.
Little fields is well situated with easy tarred road access to scenic and historic sites in the beautiful, KZN Midlands: The Nelson Mandela monument and Apartheid museum are 8 minutes away; The Howick falls are 6 minutes away; Midmar dam is 5 minutes away; Thurlow game reserve is 5 minutes away; many cycling routes are in close proximity.
Hilton is the closest village and is well known for its quaint atmospheric, often misty, setting. It has recently become well known for its gastronomic delights and good food in great restaurants is an option if you don't want to cook up a storm in your fully equipped kitchen.
We would like you feel at home and treat our home with the same respect you'd treat your own. Please only smoke on the outdoor veranda's. Sorry no pets as we have our own labrador and retriever to entertain you!

I am passionate about our beautiful and diverse country! I love our local plants and have had an indigenous plant nursery and landscaping business.
My other passion is people! Being a teacher I have seen how our educational system with its one size fits all fails many. To this end, a friend and I researched how diverse children learn and started Learning Identity, an educational support company 15 years ago.
I love my life!
Who wouldn't with an adventurous husband, caring children, adorable grandchildren and a never ending garden to play in at Little Fields!
