Peter was everything you'd hope to see in an Airbnb host. Attentive, helpful, and . The house was clean and provided everything we needed. Location is close to a number of shops, but just far enough from the main roads to be nice and quiet. Delivered everything you'd expect from the listing. Would stay again.

Peter was a wonderful host, he had the heater on for our arrival, greeted us and showed us around. The duplex was perfect for us as we were able to cater for ourselves. The local shops are close by. The duplex is private and the yard/car parking secure. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly stay again

i am a sixth generation Australian,
check me out on fac3b00k--as PETER DAVID MELINE
my first ancestor to arrive in Australia was William Neilan a tailor from County Roscommon Ireland who was transported for life by the English in 1822 for "abduction",
followed shortly by an Irish Rebel (William Casey-Death by hanging commuted to life transportation for being part of a group that stole guns from the Lord of the Manor with intent to start a rebellion against the English at Rockhill near Bruff County Limerick) , and two years later his wife (Johanna Dooley) and two daughters as part of a government sponsored family reunion initiative,
a protestant trooper from Country Armagh (Joseph Hewitt) and his wife from Inverness (Mary McLean),
a tailor from Greenock (Archibald Lamont) with his wife from Tiree (Agnes Leitch) in the Inner Hebrides,
a Farmer turned gold miner from Bristol (Amos Hillier) and his wife (Harriet Brailsford) ,
a ploughman from Wiltshire (Thomas Weaven) ...convicted of breaking a threshing machine (part of the swing riots 1830) , sentenced to death but commuted to transportation to Van Dieman's land for 7 years....
and Farmers from Norfolk (Charles Hemson) and Nottingham,
and a teenage girl (Cristina Thomson) and her sister from Glasgow sailing from Gravesend on the Thames in 1834 traveling unaccompanied to Launceston, Tasmania , seeking fortune in the antipodes.
and one great grandfather who said that he was from Denmark (Laurence Meline), from the records ....a real wheeler and dealer in gold mining leases in Western Victoria,.... he married my great grandmother (the daughter of the gold miner from Bristol) after they had had 4 kids together! ..i have not been able to find any record of this entry into Australia or his departure from Denmark, it is particularly interesting for me because it is from him that i take my surname!

All of my ancestors arrived in Australia on wooden sailing ships!
They came from from England, Scotland, Ireland and Denmark.

i was born and raised in the Riverina region in South Western NSW where my family has lived since the 1850s.

i was born on Wiradjuri Land, both my parents were born on Wirajuri land, 3 of my grandparents were born on Wiradjuri land (the other one was born on Dja Dja Warrung land) and at least one of my great grandparents was born on Wiradjuri land--i consider my self to be a child of Wiradjuri land.

i got a traineeship as a Health and Building Surveyor at the Shire Council of the small country town where i grew up, straight out of school in 1973 (one of the best things that ever happened to me and put me on a career path that has been very fortunate for me.... with several complementary additions to my qualifications which started as a Certificate in Health Inspection from the N.S.W TAFE College of External studies in 1976)
i now hold qualifications in Town Planning, Building Surveying and Environmental Health.

i run a small consultancy based at Littlehampton in the Adelaide Hills.
i am married and i am the father or 3 grown up children and 3 young grandchildren.

i have sailed small boats for a sport since i was 14 (Moths, and OK Dinghys, and later a Laser and a Tasar),

i was a real petrol head when i was young and owned a very fast Mini Cooper S ( bored out to 1387cc with a 40DCOE Weber carbie and lowered to about 2inches of ground clearance) and a Holden GTR XU1- i blew the side out of the engine at 210 kph racing an Italian kid on a back road in western NSW!!!--but soon bought a better engine that went even faster!!! (haha--petrol heads!)

i am an amateur homeopath and a REIKEI practitioner.....

i have traveled a lot in my life starting with -

-a round Australia road trip in 1976 (holden ute with 2 trail bikes) when it was 50% dirt roads! (i had the travel bug)--saved as hard as i could for the next 18 months!

-Flying Sydney to Denpasar and then overland from Indonesia to London in 1978 (starting on my own in Denpasar Bali and travelling mostly alone to Java, Sumatra, Malaysia,Singapore,Bangkok, Northern Thailand, Calcutta,Darjeeling, Nepal (and then joing CAPRICORN TOURS where i met my wife- and travelling on to-) , Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Israel, Syria, Turkey, Athens with a side trip to Egypt, Alexandria, Cairo and Luxor (working in a bar in Athens for 2 weeks and going to Paros and Antiparos in the Greek Islands for 2 weeks) and hitching from Athens to Paris via the Dalmatian coast, Trieste, Venice, Milano, Andermatt ....staying with friends in eastern Switzerland and hitching all over Switzerland ) buying a Citroen 2CV in Paris and driving it to London and all over Britain and later France , Belgium, The Netherlands (6 months working in a chocolate factory near Amsterdam) travelling to Southern Germany, Switzerland and Austria ( saw the 1979 Austrian Motor Cycle Grandprix at the Salzburgring (Kenny Roberts won from Barry Sheene!!), working at Earls Court Exhibition Centre and in a supermarket in Gloucester Rd, London and getting involved in the new punk music scene in London.

-after a year in Europe we sold the Citroen and hitched out of London
