Our little cabin is situated at the entrance of our lovely lifestyle property, separate from the main house for privacy. Enjoy the sounds of country life, inspiring views across native bush clad hills, peaceful nights under the stars.
The cabin suits those who like a comfortable space but with the experience of living close with nature. Styled on the character of New Zealand bush huts – a mix of up-cycled memorabilia and modern comfort. Comfortable queen bed.
The cabin is all yours with total privacy at the back. Offstreet parking outside the main gate at the entrance. Guests are welcome to wander and enjoy the rest of the property – the organic food garden & back paddock, and the 28 acres of native bush wilderness. Our bush track winds 4kms up the valley to a look out over the Wellington Hutt Valley region. Bicycles are available free of charge to explore the neighbouring valley. (Conditions apply). Check us out on social media (Moonshine Valley Organic Farmlet & Bush Retreat) to catch a glimpse of more.
We are a social, well travelled family, who love the opportunity to share stories around the brazier over good wine and food. Guests can feel free to enjoy their own quiet space or join in on family social times where it suits. As experienced foodies (Aidy is a Chef), we also offer a couple of menu choices – Cheese Tasting Platter to enjoy with wine; $25 or a BBQ Platter; $40 (for 2) for you to enjoy cooking your own classic kiwi BBQ on the verandah. Let us know in advance. We accept cash only.
Breakfast provisions included in the price – bread, homemade preserve, moonshine free-range eggs, fruit juice, tea & coffee.
Pick up and drop offs to buses, trains can be arranged – (host availability dependent). Airport pickups and dropoffs may be able to be arranged (host availability dependent and a travel cost applies). Please enquire and we will do our best to help where we can. :)
As part of the eco-bush cabin experience, the bathroom is outdoors (covered and private toilet and shower). There is an outside bath for those who really like to get back to nature (hot water on tap and/or woodfired). Guests are also welcome to enjoy our spa pool at the back of the main house, shared by the hosts.
Guests must be dog friendly, as we have 2 loved farm dogs wandering free on our property.
We expect our guests to respect the natural beauty and peace of our place. (Common sense stuff – smoking outdoors, not littering, following the guidelines provided for eco style systems, being respectful toward our animals). :)
