Conveniently located off Mexico 307 on the entrance road to the Dos Ojos Cenote system just north of Tulum. By car, we are a one-hour drive from the Cancun airport and 10 minutes from Tulum.

We have 4 private rooms. All rooms have a private bath with hot water showers. The room is furnished with a Queen and an individual bed. All rooms are equipped with a ceiling fan, 110V US standard outlets, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the lodge.

Our shaded, breezy location affords us more comfortable temperatures than you will find in town. We like to “keep green”, and take advantage of the natural cooling elements rather than rely on air conditioning. We live in a delicate balance with our environment, and have a responsibility to protect and preserve our resources. We try to minimize harmful contaminants released into the water, and are pleased to use Sancen cleaning products – biodegradable, environmentally sensitive products that really work!

Traditional, locally made hammocks are provided for your enjoyment, either in the privacy of your room or on the roof deck; rooms are decorated with photos and items from the owners’ travels.

A continental breakfast featuring organic, locally roasted coffee, fresh fruit and granola, and home-baked muffins is served on the first floor each morning. In season, enjoy fresh bananas and papayas from our trees!

Purified drinking water is available in the breakfast area. A guest kitchen is available for your use; the kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, sink, stove, and microwave, and is stocked with utensils. There is also a grill area for our guests to enjoy.

Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the tropical forest, engage in some bird watching, or relax with a book under the palapa on our third floor roof deck.

Dan is a native of Ohio who also spent time in Arizona, Iowa, and the Washington, DC area before ending up in New Jersey. Suzan is a New Jersey native of German parentage, has spent considerable time with her family in Bavaria, and speaks fluent German. They both share a love for adventure and travel. They have traveled extensively throughout Europe and Latin America, with forays into Northern Africa, Southern and Central America.

Both Dan and Suzan adore the outdoors, and enjoy rock climbing, cycling, hiking, and camping among other activities. Suzan also enjoys swimming, snorkeling, and bird-watching, and has a soft spot for dogs. Dan is a personable home brewer and beer aficionado who also loves cooking and trying new foods. He is also particularly adept at building and fixing things, which can be quite useful!

Maxwell, the resident canine, is an active Australian Shepherd who adores walks on the beach and exploring the jungle.

They have long been fascinated with the Mexican culture, local cuisine and geography, so were eager to take advantage of an opportunity to live and work in the Riviera Maya. They left the corporate world behind, packed up their trusty VW camper and embarked on a new adventure in Mexico.
Your hosts would love to extend their hospitality to you!

We are pet friendly and welcome your well behaved, supervised pet for no additional cost with advance notice.

The lodge is located at Dos Ojos Park where many beautiful cenotes are located right next to each other. Its away from the crowds and still only a short drive to Tulum or Akumal. Very quiet, clean and safe. We had an amazing time with Suzan, Dan and Max the dog. Suzan was so helpful and friendly, she even helped me with a dental emergency, getting me an appointment with a dentist that she trusted in town. I would strongly recommend a stay here.

This place is absolutely fabulous, a charming b&b situated in the jungle of Tulum. It's about a 15 minute drive to Tulum pueblo, and 20 to Tulum playa, but personally I liked getting away from the cars and crowds to my quiet oasis at the end of the day. The room has a private bathroom, a queen bed and a daybed /reading nook, plus a gorgeous hammock. It's clean and comfortable and very cute. There are windows with screens and a ceiling fan. I stayed by myself and felt very safe and comfortable. Their dog Max is a wonderful guard dog. Breakfast is provided downstairs in their large kitchen /bar area, and both Suzan and Dan have great advice on where to visit. Take their advice on the cenotes, it'll be an unforgettable experience! Make sure to enjoy a bottle of wine under the stars of the top floor!

Suzan and Dan were very gracious hosts and were very helpful with recommendations about the area cenotes and good restaurants in Tulum. My husband, son and I especially loved the on site cenote cave. We watched the bats fly out of it one night and then went inside, it was a real adventure! It was a great location for going to Xel-Ha. Suzan provided a nice, healthy breakfast with fruit, cereal and muffins to start our day. We recommend them and will tell our friends.

Suzan and her husband were very welcoming and friendly. They greeted us every time we came "home." We felt comfortable sitting at their outdoor patio chatting or eating breakfast. Our room was simple, clean, and comfortable and that picture of the third floor is great. Bring up a beer, swing in the hammock after a day exploring the ruins or the cenotes, and life is good! And they have a cenote right on their property, which is very cool. It's a short drive into town or to the beach resort area where there are dozens of places to eat, sit on the beach, or kite surf (for the brave). This property is actually in the Dos Ojos Park, so you have to tell the gatekeepers that you're staying at the Lodge and they let you through. You still have to pay to go to the cenotes, however, whether you dive or snorkel them.

We loved our stay at Dos Ojos Lodge! Suzan and Dan are very friendly and welcoming. You can tell the care they put into making the lodge so charming. The 3rd floor lounge area (pictured) was an absolutely perfect spot to relax in a hammock and watch the sunset. Our room was lovely, big, clean and comfortable, with a hot shower and toilet en suite. Continental breakfast in the morning was delicious, including homemade muffins and fresh fruit! There is a small cave onsite that looked fun to explore though we didn't end up having time. We were a little worried about finding the place but had no problem with the clear directions provided. Suzan and Dan also gave us great recommendations for dining and attractions in the area. If you have a rental car and don't mind a 5-10 minute drive to beaches, restaurants and cenotes, I can't imagine a better place! Truly top-notch B&B quality for hostel prices!
