A classic English country bed and breakfast in beautifully restored Victorian farm Cottage set in over an acre of grounds. Close to historic Lincoln, the charming market town of Newark on Trent, Sherwood Forest and the vibrant city of Nottingham.
Fir Tree Cottage was originally known as Crockers Farm and built on the site of a much older building in 1888 where pigs were kept and heavy horses were stabled for working the surrounding fields. During World War Two the farm was staffed by Land Army girls and German prisoners of war who were housed in huts across the road. In the early 1960s the farmland was sold off and the main house and outbuildings have since been renovated.
Besides your en suite bathroom and balcony you will also have access to the extensive gardens and roof terrace in summer months. If you request breakfast you will be served in a beautiful period dining room.
Once you are familiarised and settled in your room, you can text us should there be a problem, details of how to work showers, heating etc are in the room along with contact number.

My name's Richard, I'm married to Alison, we have two (grown -up) daughters. I was a teacher for most of my adult life but now run Fir Tree Cottage B&B. I enjoy all kinds of outdoor pursuits but especially kayaking on the River Trent and cycling in Sherwood Forest. I speak fluent French and German and travelling especially to Italy where our eldest daughter lives. Alison and I both love showing hospitality to visitors from around the world.
