Stayed at Barry's place for 8 weeks, Feb to March 2017. Collected by Richard at the airport and taken to the apartment. Richard showed us around and explained how everything worked. The location on Kloof street is great for restaurants bars etc. and around a 20 minute walk down into town. Parking at the apartment was a added bonus. If you don't have a car, no problem as plenty of taxis outside and your on a bus route. The apartment was very spacious for the 2 of us with a fully fitted kitchen which allowed us to cook meals if required. All the equipment in the apartment was in good working order and so we had a very comfortable stay. Selina the maid came once a week to do the general cleaning for us but she can do more if required. We chose to do our own washing and ironing. I would say that the apartment is how it was described to us on Airbnb. Would we stay there again if visiting Cape Town ? The answer is yes we would.

I was picked up by Richard Barry's brother in law from the airport which was very nice. Communication with Barry was great. The flat I very well located on trendy lively Kloof street in the Garden Area of Cape Town. With many shops supermarkets and restaurants on your door step. We where four staying at the flat. My 19 year old niece and her friend loved the location for going out. Barry has plenty of information books on Cape Town and the surrounding areas so don't buy any lots of reading. Barry's flat is accurate from the pictures and fully equipped. The views of lions head and table mountain are incredible from the terraces. The main bedroom has a large mezzanine. The mezzanine has a bed but no AC and got very hot. The main bedroom has AC. The second bedroom had no AC was extremely hot and uncomfortable. I slept in the lounge on the couch. I asked Barry to install AC in this room he did. The room now will be comfortable to sleep in. I asked Barry to have the carpets professional cleaned and he did. I also asked for a couple of sun beds and they arrived to. My hart sank when I saw the building and it's common parts. Very unkept even dirty the lift even smelt. Barry is aware of management issues and I feel for him. You need to be aware that there is a Chinese restaurant right in the lobby mezzanine level with live lobsters and abalone. I did enjoy a meal there one evening. Barry flat is on of only eights flats all penthouses very high up. Barry was always available and willing to help us and have the best experience possible.

Barry's apartment is the most amazing place to stay in all of Cape Town. Barry made both our arrival and departure extremely easy. The apartment itself has fantastic views, but besides that, it also has everything we needed for our extended three week stay! The apartment is located on a street full of shops and restaurants, but we also found it very convenient to cook at home during our stay. It also gave us so much room! And the beds were extremely comfortable! We loved our time in Cape Town and will definitely stay at Barry's when we return!

Die Wohnung liegt absolut zentral und sicher. Die Kloof Street war die beste Entscheidung, da wir alle Restaurants, Bars, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Busverbindungen vor der Tür hatten. Der Blick auf dem Tafelberg ist einfach fantastisch. Die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet und der Gastgeber Barry gibt sich sehr viel mühe, das sich die Gäste wohlfühlen und alles was man braucht dort hat. Wir sind am Flughafen abgeholt worden und es wurde uns alles gezeigt und erklärt. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich. Die Wohnung war sauber und absolut zweckmäßig. Wir können die Wohnung nur empfehlen und hoffen, dass Barry uns beim nächsten mal wieder aufnimmt :-) Vielen Dank Barry für die tolle Zeit und für Deine Unterkunft. Es war wunderschön in Kapstadt und das haben wir auch Deiner Unterkunft und der tollen Lage zu verdanken. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

This apartment is sooo lovely!! The location is also perfect! In the street you will find many restaurants, bars and shops. The apartment has many space, is clean and is very safe. The 3 balconys are so nice for a drink or just to lay in the sun. Barry was a perfect host; he picked us up from the airport, told us about the city and showed us the apartment. Communication went also excellent! He was very flexibel about the check in and out. We would love to come back for a longer stay. I highly recommend Barry's apartment to Airbnb!
