Very nice cottage--spacious with great windows and view of the lake. Close enough to towns, but on a very quiet road.

We wanted to find a waterfront cottage in a quiet spot where we could enjoy natural beauty and which had a great set up for cooking. Andre's cottage and her hospitality met all of our needs. Coming down the road into Hope Bay our hearts lept with joy as the light shimmered on the water and children played by the shore. Our cottage had everything needed for our stay and if we had a question Andrea got back to us right away. I especially enjoyed swimming in the clear waters and hanging out at the shore in the comfortable chairs, reading, dozing, star gazing, and more. The cottage is spacious and had everything we needed from nice bedding and towels to a well appointed kitchen, to games and water shoes. We made delicious meals which were enjoyed at the table that faced the lake. Andrea left us good tips on where to get local vegetables and fresh fish and spring water. I loved being in a quiet place where I could hear the wind blow and the birds sing. The cottage was really pretty. I loved that the big room facing the lake had window that opened all around, almost like a screened in room. I like the window by the porcelain sink in the kitchen that made washing up a joy. Our bed was very comfortable. The sound of the breeze in the Birch trees put me to sleep and woke me

Oh. My. Wow!!! Have you ever seen homes on shore and wished you could stay in one? This is a dream come true! The cottage is spotlessly clean and contains everything you need for the most relaxing vacation. It is located on a dead end road that services the other cottages on that side of the bay making it very private and quiet. There are comfortable furnishings, a fantastic kitchen, two nice sized bedrooms, and space to spread out. For rainy days, there is a great collection of games in the ottoman and books to peruse. The bicycles and canoe (including water shoes and life jackets), charcoal grill, picnic table, outdoor furniture, and firepit by the lake made our time outdoors a treat. The water is crystal clear and fairly shallow a ways out. We could have been totally content just staying at the cottage. But then we would have missed the incredible scenery that the Bruce Trail has to offer. We hiked up above the cottage on the trail access that is nearby. We also drove to a trail access in Lion's Head that was breathtaking. There are backpacks, ice packs and a basket of hats and gloves. I would recommend taking gloves on the trail. Communication with Andrea was very good. We came on spur-of- the-moment, so we used the linens in the cottage. Washing them was no trouble at all. Make sure you take Andrea's advice about buying fresh fish at the local market - it was so great on the grill. We were not able to visit any of the farms that she suggested, but definitely will on our next trip. There are grocery stores in Wiarton and Lion's Head and a great bakery with a diner in Lion's Head. There were two types of homemade jam, butter, coffee creamer, canned pickles, and condiments in the refrigerator. Olive oil, a large assortment of spices, flour, sugar, salt and pepper in the kitchen. Andrea has gone above and beyond in what she makes available at her cottage!

The hosts were very friendly with helpful suggestions about what to do on the Bruce Peninsula. This was the authentic Canadian cottage experience. Highlights were the new claw-foot bath tub, wood stove, tempurepedic mattress, and apple tree in the back yard. The listing is accurate and the cottage is nicely located with friendly neighbors. The location is central to other attractions.

This cottage is beautiful. It was a very nice place to stay for the week. Location was great. There is a gravel road between the cottage and the lake. This is mostly a concern if you have children like we do. However it wasn't a very busy road as it is a dead end and people usually drove quite slowly and we found it very manageable with the children. Andrea the host is great at giving info before your trip so you can be sure to bring everything you need.

This place is amazing! We stayed at a few cottages this summer and this one was definitely our favourite. Andrea is a great host who had amazing local suggestions and touched base with us before our trip. The cottage is an amazing space with a gorgeous view and is bigger than the pictures tell. We have two small children (11 months and 2.5 yrs old) and they had a great time in and out of the cottage. It's located in a great community where everyone says hi. The local beach is great and has a small store with what you need. I could go on and on about how much we loved this place. We would come here again in a heartbeat. What we saw and did - Keady livestock market (antiques, animals, food, etc.) - Lions head farmers market (small but great!) - Pottery from Gleason Brook Pottery and Don Dubois - Berford Lake beach
