Rosario was very cordial, thoughtful, and welcoming. He offered to leave the airport and meet me at the train station, but I chose to just wander...ultimately, his place is a very cool-looking one bedroom apartment in a quiet, local neighborhood -- not picturesque like some parts of the city, but good for those who want to avoid the tourists and near a couple of restaurants, a few blocks by foot from the Metro, which is perhaps 20-25 minutes from Termini but only two stops from Cinecitta'. You're sleeping in the living room, but it wasn't an issue and it's good value for money, much better and more private than a hostel. He made me pasta with tomatoes from his family's garden and cafe' every morning, and weathered my questionable Italian with the patience and understanding of a teacher. I breezed in briefly and he was busy, but I enjoyed the time I spent there.
