We fell in love with this house at first site because of the craftsman's ship in it's stone work and terracotta roof. The house used to be a working farm. The peasants lived upstairs and the animals on the ground floor. The main entrance was a majestic huge staircase which a loggia. We converted it to a home paying close attention to detail using only the finest of material from the terracotta tiles, to travertine marble, peperino stone for the stair case and hand made wooden doors and windows. The colours of the walls reflect the colours of Orvieto and the historic colours that are found in paintings from this area of Italy.
It was also the close proximity to Rome and Tuscany and multiple wonderful Umbrian hillside towns full of history that also convinced us that this was the place to be. We never tire of visiting the towns around us and the multiple vineyards for wine tasting. Note that Wine tasting can be organised as well as cooking classes and an in-house chef.
