My husband is a classical pianist and his music does waft into the guest suite. I've always used this suite of our home as my writing retreat and have always found the gentle sound of the piano soothing. He generally practices in our home for a couple of hours a day -- Never before 8AM or after 10PM.
No smoking inside the suite. If you smoke outside, please close the French doors.
The back garden is yours to privately enjoy; we continue to maintain it during your stay, particularly if your stay becomes long-term. That means that three times a week we weed and water the plants. We also share access to the composting area behind the garden. We will set up a schedule that is convenient to you so as not to disturb you while maintaining our property. Our DWP meter is located in the garden area and once per month the DWP comes to read the meter.
We retain the right to enter the suite if we suspect any emergency, including, but not limited to, the smell of smoke or electricity. In any case other than an emergency, we will never enter the suite without notifying you in advance.
We are responsible and conscientious of our state's historic drought and ask you to join us in being frugal with water. We are not fanatics. We do the best we can and that's all we ask of you.
Otherwise, we'll take it as it comes -- we're flexible, accommodating and happy to assist you in any way we can.
I am a writer and my husband is a classical pianist. Our home is our sanctuary -- intimate, warm and inviting -- and our friendly, personable little community is unlike any other in the entire Los Angeles area. We feel so fortunate to be a part of it and have been hiking, biking and exploring this historic Hollywoodland for 20 years, and delight in helping others discover and enjoy all that it has to offer.
