Cozy space to rest, recover, and escape the city that never sleeps. Designed so you can enjoy the comforts of home for the price of a hostel. Great restaurants, nightlife, and Brooklyn landmarks within walking distance.
If my apartment were a meal, it'd be comfort food. I hope the apartment provides you with things that New York city does not make readily available: quiet, comfort, space, and coziness.
Queen foam mattress is very comfortable. It's a liability if you're trying to fit in as much as you can while here. Duvet insert is down alternative. Extra blankets available.
The apartment is on the fourth floor of a walk-up building. No elevator. No need for a gym.
TV: Apple TV and DVD player are yours. Netflix, HBO, Showtime, ESPN, and more apps are up and running. No cable, but bunny ear antennae pick up the networks in case you want to indulge in football, Jeopardy, etc.
Books: Many good books.
Kitchen: Coffee, tea, and popcorn for your consumption. French press, tea pot, milk frother, slow cooker, dishware and cookware, blender for smoothies, cocktail shakers, spice cabinet, filtered water, ice, plenty of mason jars. Overall, stacked kitchen. With luck, lots of fresh herbs will also be available for your enjoyment. If you want to shop for groceries, there are several stores within walking distance. Just need beer, soda, and snacks? Hit the bodega on the corner. Laundry? Right across the street. Wash and fold service? Next block over. Dry-cleaning? Also next block over.
There's a roof with a view of the skyline if you need a smoke or fresh air.
I have a small bedroom and small office that will be off limits. The rest is your home during your stay. The bedroom and reading room are yours alone. Kitchen, bathroom, and dining room shared.
I tend to make myself scarce. I want my guests to feel like this is their home. If I'm not working or out, I'll probably keep to my bedroom or office. However, if you need anything, I'm eager to be of service.
Towels, bed linens, coffee, tea, and popcorn are all provided. If you need any toiletries, suntan lotion, an umbrella, and things of that nature, I usually have them on hand. Wireless works great. Stream away. Apartment is on the top floor of a four story walk-up. Water pressure is good. Heat is good. That AC unit in the bedroom is invaluable on humid summer nights. Fans are available.
Quiet. It's an apartment building. Please respect the neighbors. If you're feeling antsy and it's late - bars, bistros, and the big city are right outside. The city never sleeps. This apartment, however, does. ; )

Thank you for your interest in my listing. My name is James, and I want you to feel at home in Brooklyn.
A few tidbits about myself: I work in production and contribute to many of the commercials you see on TV and online. Please forgive me for this. The hours can be quite brutal. My days average 14 hours, but it's not unusual for them to go 20+ hours. Fortunately, I'm a bit of a ninja when it comes to entering and leaving the apartment at odd hours, so you should not be disturbed.
On my days off, if I'm home, I'm probably reading, writing, cooking, eating, or cleaning. If you're under the impression that folks from Brooklyn are all hip cats who constantly do cool things, I might leave you disappointed.
When I'm out and about, I enjoy biking around Brooklyn, hanging out with friends, and hitting up museums and hole-in-the-wall eateries.
As a host, I want my guests to feel very at home. I generally make myself scarce, but if you need anything, I'm always a phone call away.
Whether you stay with me or not, I hope you enjoy your visit to the city. It lives up to the hype.
