We dearly loved staying here. The private terrace was so enjoyable for our morning coffee and our evening meals. Jakov and his mother are such warm, gracious hosts, and their garden (which the terrace overlooks) is gorgeous. Jakov's mother was always leaving us little gifts and treats--I think it was the first time I had grapes straight from someone's home garden.
We slept very well here, too. The bed was comfortable; the sheets were lovely, old-fashioned, high-quality cotton; the aircon was quiet (and we didn't always need it); and I loved waking up to the sight of the high, sloped ceiling, finished in the same pretty wood you see elsewhere in the house, like the kitchen, which is also pretty and unique. We prepared simple meals of salad and seared meats from the nearby supermarket, and we had everything we needed to do so.
We especially enjoyed the company of a goofy, playful kitten that had recently adopted Jakov and his mother. The walking time to the centre of Zadar is as stated here in the listing. This was not a problem for us because we were mostly exploring national parks. We didn't mind the walk on the 2 occasions that we went into the centre. The wifi, as someone else mentioned, was a little weak, but if you really need a strong signal, the nearby parking lot of McDonalds/Billa supermarket is one option! Another tip: here, as in every place we stayed in Croatia, it's best to have some mosquito repellent handy when you're sitting outside.
We highly, highly recommend this place and have the warmest, fondest wishes for our hosts.
