Back in the day, I spent 27 years earning a living as an actress (Margaret Milner-Smyth) and script writer (Terry Miller), focusing mainly on free-lance radio work, but dabbling in theatre, film and early TV when my family commitments allowed. Once English language radio theatre all but expired, I turned to commerce and built up a flourishing international fabric wholesale and converting business. As Disney licencees in both South Africa and the UK, we supported South African printers and textile companies and supplied shops and designers in South Africa, Australia and the UK.
During this time I completed my neglected education in other areas, studying through UNISA, finally completing a Masters degree in Theory of Literature awarded with distinction in 2009.
Now officially "retired", I'm busier than ever, still involved in the fashion world, but enjoying my amazing family, wonderful grandchildren, and beloved dogs and cat. And squeezing in as much travel as my budget allows !
