Studio 5 is a spacious studio apartment for 2 with an en-suite shower room on the ground floor of our 3-storey eco-build house, a 25-minute walk from the harbour. We hope you'll feel at home whether you’re here for a few days or a couple of weeks.
Studio 5 is an open-plan ground floor apartment so we've gone for a contemporary look in which we showcase the work of a few local artists. We've tried to make sure that that you have everything you need to make you feel at home - and we've also listened to the feedback from our 100+ sets of airbnb guests over the last two years.
Bedroom & shower room
You'll certainly have sweet dreams when you snuggle down on the double bed with its really comfortable Natural Collection Hempure mattress with 2,560 pocket springs. No need to cram sheets and towels into your suitcase: we provide all bedding along with hand, bath and beach towels - free of charge. There’s plenty of room for your clothes in the chest of drawers (where you'll find a hairdryer) and wardrobe (with a supply of coat hangers). There's shampoo, shower and hand gel in the shower room.
Cozy up on the sofa to watch TV, listen to the radio, read books or play games. The dining table also doubles as a desk space is you're here on business. There is SATfree and Wi-Fi availability plus you have access to our Amazon Prime account. There's also a DVD player and wide selection of movies (including Disney classics) and TV series to choose from. We're both great readers and love to share so please feel free to browse our 'lending library'. If the weather turns wild or you just want to lounge around, there's also a selection of board games - including the Cornish version of Monopoly - to keep you occupied.
The kitchen is small but 'perfectly formed' with an electric oven and double hob – there’s no gas at this end of town – plus a microwave and additional cupboard space. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for eating and drinking.
We don't do bed-and-breakfast but there's a choice of cereals and porridge, and we've stocked up on Cornish tea (and some speciality teas), coffee, milk and biscuits for you. Plus there’ll be sugar in the sugar bowl and filled salt-and-pepper mills.
If you don’t feel like cooking, the choice of restaurants in St Ives serving great and, generally, locally sourced food is awesome. The Studio 5 information pack includes reviews of our favourites as well as tips from friends and other guests. If you're feeling really lazy (and why not, you're on holiday), a number of restaurants in town also do home deliveries so just give them a call and sit back and relax.
And another thing (or four)
- Finding the perfect temperature to suit everyone is almost impossible so there's a heater and fan so that you can be as warm or cool as you like.
- If you need a pristinely ironed shirt, there's an iron and ironing board; there's also a clothes airer.
- If you want to eat breakfast al fresco, there's a bistro set and a small outdoor space to the rear of the apartment.
- As well as beach towels, there's a wind break (essential on a British beach) and a couple of body boards you can use.
Studio 5 is completely self-contained and secure. There's a designated parking space on site.
We will be here to welcome you to Studio 5 and show you around. We want our guests to be fully independent but will be on hand to supply any local information or help as needed.

Mutual respect is all we ask of our guests. Otherwise, there are only two rules: no smoking in Studio 5 (there is a smoking area to the rear of the apartment) and no dogs (we have an old cat, Jasmine, who would be freaked out by other animals being in the house).
My wife Lin & I moved to St Ives three years ago and live in an eco Scandi-style house on the edge of St Ives with our black cat, Jasmine. We love living within walking distance of the sea and beautiful sandy beaches as well as the local cinema, jazz club and restaurants. I cycle, Lin runs (occasionally) and we're both great walkers - there's a brilliant network of path and lanes to explore on our doorstep. I have a dual life: working with adults with learning disabilities and also creating recycled pots and lamps, which sell through the garden centre at Tremenheere Sculpture Park. Lin also wears two hats: she's a corporate copy writing but also in the process of writing her first children's book. We love the balanced view that these very different activities give us. We have an allotment and grow a lot of our own fruit and vegetables. I guess you could say that we are finally living the dream!
