We have one cat named Sufi and a Beagle named Tyker. Tyker tries to sneak out but he is not allowed (will return in an hour so no need to chase him if he escapes) Sufi constantly goes in and out of the house, whenever the door is open. She enjoys being an indoor/outdoor cat.
When leaving the room for the day please turn off all lights and air conditioning.
When using the common areas, (kitchen, bath, living rm,) please pick up after yourself. The kitchen is for light cooking, microwaving, only and should be used only between the hours of 9:00 AM - 12 noon, and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. There is a dishwasher, so dirty dishes can be loaded in and run it whenever full. Cleaners to wipe down surfaces are found under kitchen sink.
A basket to keep your bath items in is supplied in each room, so it's best to keep this in your room since whatever bath product is left in the bathroom is available for all to use. Also, please be considerate of the next guest to use the shower by rinsing soap off walls, if necessary spraying it down with shower cleaner provided, and placing bath mat over radiator to dry and keep clean from foot traffic. Men, please leave the toilet seat down.
Sorry, no smoking or drug use allowed inside house or on the property.
No curfew for reentry at night.
I feel fortunate that I have a historic post-Civil War home in the New York City borough of Staten Island and I enjoy sharing it with others. Being an interior designer, I've put a lot of attention to detail in decorating the various rooms and enjoy keeping them functioning and comfortable for guests. I have an adult daughter who has her own place and my son is away at school most of the time, so their rooms are frequently available.
I've traveled a lot in the US, as well as Europe. My favorite travel destinations so far are Cyprus and Poland, where I have relatives. I am a musician and a singer and enjoy our local art scene here on the island.
