Martha and her Husband welcomed us to their beautiful beachfront home and gave us a quick tour and provided fantastic guidance about the island and services available. They even set us up with a great Fishing guide that provided a successful trip (caught a 5 foot long Wahoo). If you want to know anything about the island, ask Martha or check with the neighbors when you arrive. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. The house was beautiful and had all the necessary amenities such as cooking supplies including spices, and a gas grill. The house is only 50 feet from the beach has a beautiful grass roof pavilion right next to the water which is where we spent most of our time. The rocky/sandy shore provided for great exploring and lots of small but colorful fish to see when snorkeling. They have AC in the house, but we only used it once. The ocean breeze always blew through the windows keeping it comfortable and letting us hear the ocean splash against the shore. They have cable TV, but we only used it for music. There are two king size beds (which can be split apart plus two bunks and a sleeper sofa) with 2 nice bathrooms, which makes it a great place for 2 -3 couples. They have fresh well water , and even provided a cooler for our expeditions around the island. We honestly didn't want to leave!!!. The linens and towels were plentiful and fresh, and we have nothing bad to say about this property!!! The island in general is not a modern location, with limited services, but you can easily rent a car which is highly recommended, and if you go to the Hawks Nest which is a mile away and open an account (for meals and drinks) they will make you feel welcome and offer use of the pool. There is no wifi internet on the island, so make sure if you need it, you have an ATT phone with an international plan, Verizon doesn't work well on Cat Island. Keep in mind if you are interested in this property that Martha spends a lot of time on the island, which has limited access to email, phone, so plan ahead and give her some time to respond. They are on Bahama time!!!!
