You will have access to all rooms on this second-floor (top-floor) apartment. Fully stocked bathroom, including soap, shampoo, conditioner, and bubble bath. Fully stocked chef’s kitchen. Make yourselves at home! Shared use of nice back-yard, with BBQ and fire pit (s'mores anyone?).
I make sure you are checked in promptly and easily, and will coordinate via text for your needs. Otherwise, the place is yours: make yourselves at home and respect our home.
I'll answer any Questions about home & neighborhood (restaurants/ bars/ parks in walking distance, transport, etc). I'll be available via cellphone, and will typically be there for check-out.

Order in from dozens of fine-dining (or casual) restaurants, or walk to Mariano's Italian Supermarket to pick up fixin's for your home-cooked meal (with large selection of fine wine, beer and spirits). West Lakeview Liquors, about 3 blocks away on Addison, is one of the premier craft beer retailers in America. Please do NOT drink drink owner's adult beverages - thank you.

OK to use the BBQ - shared with 1st floor tenants and owner, so advanced notice is recommended (though not required). To start BBQ, open valve on top of gas tank (open door), open grill top, turn nobs to "light", and press "starter" button. Be sure to turn off gas (3 nobs), and re-tighten gas valve when done.
OK to use DVD's from my collection in the Office (over 100 DVDs).
Fireplace is NOT operational - you will cause a house fire if you try to light a fire there.
Our goal is to make sure your stay is the best possible combination of a "B-n-B" experience and a comfortable vacation home. Our house rules are in place so you can enjoy your stay and have clear guidelines for taking care of our home and being a good guest.
You must have prior written approval at time of booking to have any non-paying guests visit (ie, if you have family or friends over for dinner), along with the names and ages of each guest. Up to 6 GUESTS MAX (including babies and children.)
Please, no smoking on the premises (including outside front and back): significant extra cleaning fees and negative guest review will apply.
No 3rd-party bookings: booking person must be a guest with ID verified prior to check-in (ie, don't book for someone else), and is responsible for all members of his/ her party.
No animals allowed.
WASHER/ DRYER use must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. If possible, please advise at time of booking if you think you will be needing to wash/ dry clothes.
Calphalon pots/ pans are NOT to be washed in dishwasher - hand wash only, nor to be used with metal utensils. Sharp knives also are not for dishwasher.
Children - including babies - are totally welcome, but house is NOT CHILDPROOFED: all children must be supervised at all times (pack-n-play is available for guest use, at no charge). Following Airbnb guidelines (or possibly a host forum), children of all ages DO count as 'people' (in terms of number of guests), as they use resources, etc.
Common, outdoor space:
I encourage guests to enjoy the outdoor space (BBQ, fire pit), however please remember it is shared with my tenants, and myself/ my family/ friends. Please advise at time of booking (recommended). Paying guests ONLY, unless pre-approved in writing (via Airbnb messaging) PRIOR TO BOOKING.
For adult-only groups of four (4) or more, everyone in the party must be at least 28 years old.
Ample drawers and closet space for guest use are clearly marked. If additional space is needed (longer stays), please let us know at time of check-in. Otherwise, please refrain from opening other drawers/ closets, and do not use any drawers unless empty when you arrive. Please refrain from touching books (etc) in shelves in child's bedroom, or bedroom desk drawer. My daughter and I thank you for respecting our space!

OK to use board games, cards, etc in living room cabinets. [Be careful when opening living room glass/ wood cabinets: these are original, restored, 1912 built-in furniture, and the left door latches on bottom - do not force it.]
