An historical type of residence. Located at the heart of Beijing with 3 lakes(quiet&safe,HouHai area).Breakfast included - western or Chinese style. 2 mins walk to subway.4 km to Forbidden City.Air purifier, air conditioner,private bathroom,wifi.

My parents operate BnB business over 10 years. Breakfast is included - Chinese or western style with brewed coffee or tea.

We have lived here for 4 generations. This historical type of residence is called "Siheyuan" which means harmonized courtyard surrounded by buildings on all four sides.

Our courtyard is a private house. My family(3 of us) live on the north side of the yard. The east and west sides are for BnB guests.
The traditional extirior structure and design have been preserved well, and we offer a modern comfortable interior environment -- airconditioning(heating/cooling), 3 private western-style toilets including showers, auto seat warming washlets.

We also offer few other things:
* Air Purifier
* A sunroom in the yard which is full of flowers and plants.
* A coffee machine
* Toasters
* Chinese traditional breakfast / western style
* Purified water
* Laundry
* 2 family bicycles
* Local area maps

Our courtyard is located in the Hutong(alley) area called "Shichahai" in the center of Beijing. This historic scenic area consists of three lakes. There're many bars & cafes along the lakes which make it a super popular destination for tourists and locals.

But it is very quiet when you get into the alleys. You will not hear any noise from the traffic.

As Our house is located at the heart of the city, you can easily find banks, parks and restaurants.
Here are few of many famous sightseeing places to be noticed:
* Prince Gong’s Mansion( 5 mins walk)
* Bell and Drum towers( 7 mins walk)
* Forbidden City (~4km)
* Lama Temple (~3km)
* Tiananmen Square (~4km)
* Subway Stations (400m, ~3 mins walk)

- Free airport pickup*(stay more than 5 nights)
- Free wifi access.
- Private bathroom.
- Air conditioner.
- The yard space.
- Laundry.
- Kitchen.

This is an awesome place to stay when you are in Beijing. Mrs. Jing's place is only a one minute walk away from the breathtaking Houhai village, where you can experience all that old Beijing has to offer. Mrs. Jing and her husband were more than happy to offer travel tips and write names of destinations in Chinese (for taxi drivers). In addition, they offered us breakfast - either American or Chinese. Hot water was never a problem and the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to Beijing. Cheers!

This family is what makes Airbnb awesome. So sweet and kind and accommodating. Really made me feel like family. My stay with them was too short and I hope to stay with them in the near future. Chinese breakfast my favorite. If you're into old school hutong living and want to touch the past, this is the place to stay.

Mr. Jin and Ms. Wang are very warm and nice hosts. We enjoyed the interesting discussions we had with them on Chinese culture related to the house. The courtyard house (四合院)is very well maintained and has kept the charm of a traditional Chinese house but with modern amenities. Though it is only steps away from the most popular area ( 后海)for night life in Beijing, the house is very quiet and peaceful during night, a perfect place to relax after a day of touring the city. We usually stay in the north-east area of Beijing near the universities. We are glad to have this unique experience staying near the center of the city in a traditional Chinese house.

Beautiful home in historic hutong neighborhood! Charming hosts could not have been more helpful or informative. I had a wonderful stay and loved having breakfast every morning in the beautiful sunroom. Very convenient and safe neighborhood.

I highly recommend this home! Excellent location, highly convenient to some of the most active tourist and cultural spots, but also peaceful and quiet. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with extras provided for comfort. The food was good, the hosts run their home as a bnb so are experienced with guests. You will have your own (lockable) rooms, bathroom, and shower with access to shared dining area, laundry, and kitchen (and of course the small courtyard). There is fast wifi. Everything was as described in the listing and as noted by other reviewers. I note for emphasis (it is mentioned in the description) that you are renting a suite of rooms (or as available, the entire home except the family quarters), not just a single room, and the price reflects it -- I was alone and still felt the stay was worth the cost, but had sleeping quarters for four in two bedrooms, plus private bath -- this would be an excellent choice for a family or group of friends who wanted a semi-private home-like refuge to return to during their stay. Because it is a courtyard home in a historical hutong neighborhood, access requires parking on the main road and a walk, but it is not terribly far or difficult. I recommend calling the host when you arrive to obtain specific directions and meet you. The hosts were very generous and provided many kinds of assistance during my stay. I was here on some stressful personal business, not as a tourist, so my time was mostly spent working at home (phone and computer) -- at all times, my hosts could not have been more friendly, welcoming and kind to me. They were always available to answer questions or help with anything. It honestly felt like I was visiting family, and not a paying guest. Being in such a historic home with members of the original family owners was a priceless opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of the community, not to be missed. The hosts were enthusiastic teachers! I've lived in Beijing before, visited many times, and have local relatives here, but still learned new and fascinating tidbits from my hosts each day in our conversations. Of note: due to the location near several government facilities, there was very occasional interference with cellular signal (not constant) that sometimes made signal reception a challenge. This was more than compensated-for by the location, and when it did occur was never was a problem for more than a few minutes. My departure flight was in the early morning; the host insisted that, rather than try to find or arrange a taxi so early, he would drive me to the airport -- this was inconvenient to him but much appreciated, and fully illustrates the generosity and care they showed me the entire week. A beautiful home, peaceful solitude, and a warm welcome from good people... I hope to return again when my business takes me back to Beijing!

We had great communication prior to arriving in Beijing and as we were trying to get to the taxi stand I called my host to have them tell off a persistent underground taxi middle man trying to sell us a ride at twice the normal fare, misrepresenting the cost of a metered taxi. We were able to hire two taxi's needed to carry us and our luggage from the Fast Train to our host for only 60 RMB. The underground taxi prices were 150-300 RMB. Once we arrived at a lane nearby we were met and led through a maze of alleys to a quiet, extremely comfortable house with great bathrooms. After nearly two weeks traveling in China, it is the softer bed and well equipped bathroom that stands out. We were given keys and able to enjoy the nightlife a short walk away without disturbing our host on return. We enjoyed the Chinese breakfast the first day and more western breakfast the second day and found the location perfect for walking to many of the central sites or a 20 RMB taxi ride to a word class restaurant, Da Dong, for amazing roast duck. Next time we will stay longer for more 5 star comfort on the ground floor in the middle of it all. My twenty something sons also really enjoyed being in such a beautiful house and said they wanted to build a house based on such a great design from 400 years ago. Others took tours to see such a house and we were able to live in it for a couple days. We are thankful to our host for opening it to visitors.

I've booked this Hutong for the purpose of authentic Beijing Hutong experience for my foreign friends. I haven't stayed for the entire booked days but the experience was good. The host is very friendly and likes to introduce the culture of Hutong to the American friends.
