If you want a place to crash with or without some friends where you won't be bothered by traffic, music, shouting, lights, nasty people, ghosts, sirens, dogs, deadlines, rules, and the general tricks of modern life then La Montee Blanche is for you
We like this picture of our old fridge but it was taken in 2009 so we are somewhat older. However we are never going to look as good again (well Steve isn't anyway) so it stays. We moved to France in Feb 2013 chasing a bit more space, less stress, a more rural lifestyle and opportunities to do new things and guess what.... it worked!
Steve is a social entrepreneur and former director of various charitable organisations and Sarah is an efficient administrator who provides secretarial services for anyone legal who might need them and also an English language teacher.
We are lucky enough to live in this quiet corner of Poitou-Charentes and enjoy sharing its peaceful charm with friends, family and total strangers! We are active members of our local church and are pre-occupied with ancient building renovations during 2015.
We were both in Uganda, Zimbabwe and Kenya for 3 weeks just before Christmas and not in the places tourists normally go!! And we visited Botswana in July this year - all for the charity Thare Machi Education
We have a small business which organises English language and Business training courses around the world which we hope to base here in the future. Finally we organise an annual music festival on our small field here during the first weekend of September which is amongst the coolest things around at that time... consider coming this year!
