Beachfront condo complex half-way between SJU Airport and El Yunque Rainforest. The complex is low-key without all the 'bells and whistles' of neighboring condos - which allows us to rent at a lower rate and GREAT VALUE!


3 bedroom 'walk-up' penthouse apartment in Villas del Mar - one of Puerto Rico's first 'beach condo' complexes on Loiza Beach.

It is a fairly quiet complex with most residents visiting on weekend, so you can enjoy uncrowded facilities, pool and beach during the week.

This is not the fanciest condo resort - Villas del Mar doesn't have all the multiple pools, water slides and river pools complexes like Aquatika (just down the beach - see our other listing).

However, it has beach access, a nice pool, hot tub, kid's pool, gym & sauna, so it is one of the best bargains for a 3-bedroom condo with roof terrace that you'll find in Puerto Rico!

Our Villas del Mar condo is perfect for adventurous travelers who want to explore Puerto Rico but have a very comfortable and secure place to relax and hang out with the moon, stars and view of El Yunque rain forrest from our roof terrace.

We're only 20 minutes from SJU airport. 30 minute drive from Old San Juan. Close to the large Outlet 66 Shopping Mall, El Yunque National Rainforest, Luquillo Beach, Fajardo's Bio-Bay plus ferries to Vieques and Culebra.

The condo has all of the living space together on the 3rd floor - so there are about 30 steps to reach the front door. There is no elevator in the building.

When you enter the condo, there is a living/dining room with a front balcony. There is a counter dividing the kitchen, so everyone can hang out together. The hallway to the right leads to all three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

INTERNET ACCESS: The condo now has its own Wi-Fi internet access. There is also free WI-FI available in the clubhouse that is just a short walk from the condo.

TV/DVD: There is only one TV in the condo - in the main living room area. It only has local channels which are all in Spanish. The TV is equipped with ROKU, so you can access your accounts on Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
There is a DVD player if you bring any DVDs from home or want to rent them from Redbox, etc.

Master suite has a queen bed, dresser, large closet, vaulted ceiling, air conditioning and private bathroom with bathtub and shower. There is a door that separates the suite from the rest of the apartment plus another door into the bedroom for complete privacy.

The second bedroom has a full bed, large closet, vaulted ceiling and air conditioning.

The third bedroom has a bunk bed with full mattress on the lower level and twin mattress above. Room has air conditioning and a large closet.

The second and third bedrooms share the guest bathroom which has a bathtub and shower.

Just off the kitchen is a laundry room with washing machine - but no dryer. However, the roof terrace has lots of sun and a clothesline to dry any wet bathing suits or laundry.

The other end of the kitchen leads out to the back balcony with table and chairs and the spiral staircase to the roof terrace.

The roof terrace also has table and chairs and is a great place to hang out, especially at night under the stars or full moon! As you'll notice, the roof is unfinished, so it is not the prettiest terrace, but this is one of the reasons the rate is so cheap. Just gaze out to the ocean past the palm trees or the mountains of El Yunque National Park and you'll appreciate the great rate more than the unfinished floor.

As you see in the photos, there is a pharmacy at the end of the street where you turn into Villas del Mar. There is also a bakery on the other corner. There are several mini-marts or 'colmados' along the road, including just down the road in front of Aquatika. It is a short drive to supermarkets, shopping centers and outlet malls along Route #3.

There is one assigned parking space for #301 in the parking lot between buildings 'B' and 'C'. After you park, you will use the left entrance to building 'C' and go upstairs to your condo.

Once you get settled, walk to the back of the complex to find the pool and entrance to the beach.

There is also a playground for kids near the security guard (not near your condo, so there is no noise).

There is also a small gym and sauna near the front gate.

Take a look at the photos and let me know if you have any questions - the condo is not fancy - the roof terrace is 'rustic' and unfinished - but the condo is very comfortable and a great base for exploring Puerto Rico!


The condo complex has a small clubhouse with wifi access next to the swimming pool.
There is also a fitness room and sauna - see the guard for key to access.
There is a security gate to enter the complex, so if you have guests, you will have to notify the guard and have them use the visitor parking spaces.


Based on past experience, it has worked out best for guests to pick up the keys at the Hotel San Jorge in San Juan's Arts District - its less then 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel has 24/7 front desk, so there is no problem is flights are delayed or you have a very late arrival. Once you pick up your keys, we are always available by phone to help with any questions and if there is an issue that needs attention at the condo, we can make arrangements for any maintenance needed. When you leave, keys can be left in the condo, so you can go directly to the airport on your way home.


Keys must be picked up in San Juan before you go to the Villas del Mar complex. There have been so many misconnects with airline schedules and delays that both staff and guests have agreed that it is much easier to have Beach Condo guests pick up the keys at Hotel San Jorge in the Arts District of San Juan. It is only about a 10 minute drive from the airport near the San Jorge Children's Hospital (we'll send a map after you confirm your booking). The hotel has 24 hour front desk, so you don't have to worry about late arrival. We will also show you a nearby 24 hour supermarket, so if you arrive late you can do some grocery shopping on the way to the condo.
Check-out by 11am: When you leave the condo on your last day - you can just lock the door and drop the keys in the mailbox just outside the condo door. Then you can go directly to the airport.

Keys for the condo must be picked up at our Hotel San Jorge in San Juan's Arts District - less than 10 minutes from the airport. We'll send instructions and a map. This way, we have 24/7 front desk and you don't have to worry if your flight is delayed or if rental car check-in takes longer than expected.

was my first time at Airbnb and let me tell u! it was an amazing experience in such a beautiful place and a beautiful humble Host (Shaoping Zeng) she was very helpfull and i give her an A plus or 10 out of 10 i highly recomended her and her place is A plus too!! very clean and 15 min from everywere!!

We enjoyed our stay at Shaoping's home. The arrangements for check in were very convenient considering our flight was delayed. We had our own private beach and access to 2 pools. The pools were open late on the weekends so we were able to enjoy PR during the day and the pool at night. Shaoping's always responded quickly to our questions and I do recommend this place to anyone.

My family and I were impressed about this place. We really enjoy it! We had a really nice time! The condo was comfortable, clean; with a lot of space. The distance to the beach is walking distance. One of things when I l looked was the security: Security 24/7. Another thing about the condo, this one has 2 balconies, the view was fantastic. If I travel again, I don't think twice to come back to this place. Thanks Shaoping!

We met Shaoping when we went to pick up the apartment keys. She was kind enough to sit with us and answer any of our questions. She was super helpful and delightful. Throughout the entire Airbnb process, there was great communication. By far, this has been one of my favorite Airbnb rentals! It had everything we needed, soap, towels, plates, wifi, etc. The apartment is very spacious. The beds were comfy, and each room had air conditioning. The pool was open late, so we were able to travel PR during the day and enjoy the pool at night. The apartment is located within a gated community and we felt safe at all times. I highly recommend Shaoping and her rental!
