Feels like home. A super clean friendly home in a bikeable location with everything you'll need exactly where you want it. Plus, we're close to everything no matter how you choose to get there!
Lovely porch for enjoying coffee or cocktails (or weed) while you watch more people on bikes ride by than stinky cars. If you have em, your kids can play with our toys or in the sandbox while you make dinner and have an adult conversation for once! From this awesome little space (that used to be my painting studio) you'll feel welcomed and relaxed while you figure out what your next adventure will be.
You'll have access to the studio itself, it's porch, our shared side porch with picnic table, gas grill and a yard built with kids in mind. You don't have to have kids to enjoy this space or us, as we once had a very active lifestyle before our two kids and plan to again once they get a bit older. The space can easily accommodate kids, but I actually think it's the perfect spot for a couple... without kids! You'll have keys and it's it's own separate house, we don't see or hear you come or go unless we are hanging out in the yard.
We live next door. We're super friendly, very approachable and totally accommodating. We can give you your space or hang out, swap stories and enjoy a good beer on the porch!
We also don't mind if you consume your cannabis here, it's totally ok. If you smoke or vape it, it must stay outside and it's your job to clean it up. :)
Upon your departure... if you could please do your dishes and throw the sheets/towels in the washer, that would be great! Smoking of cannabis or cigarettes can happen out on the front porch. I ask that you please take care of all your cigarette butt needs all on your own. :) Other than that, we ask that you see us as your new favorite neighbors and treat our little house as if it were your own!

Nikki grew up in Texas and claims Austin as her hometown; Gregg grew up in Michigan and claims Detroit as his. We met in Austin and fell in love while traveling together. We've been traveling together (and separately) all over the world and this country for most of our lives. After living together for 7 years in Oakland, CA, we decided to move to Portland, OR because it matched our lifestyle of community building, music loving, hiking, biking, tree loving, gardening and art making. Then we had twins. Having two babies at once sure is a great way to put the breaks on travel plans for a while!
I think it only natural that Gregg and I would eventually transform a large part of our home (where we remain happily held hostage for a period of time) into something that would continue to connect us to those that are in the midsts of their travels.
We love living here and we love sharing our maps and guide books of the area. As well as portable cribs, highchairs, boardgames, and other supplies to loan you, we also have bicycles, camping gear and other equipment to rent out for a small price.
