A delightful cosy double bedroom, 2 bedside tables, with a spacious sliding wardrobe and chest of drawers, own hair drier, own bathroom with shower and toilet. A cottage style room in a rural French home with a very comfortable bed. Peace and quiet apart from the odd farming tractor, a few birds, a frog (in season) and brebis.
A quiet corner in the south west of France is a very special place to live for professional English couple who love the French way of life with an English touch! A rural tranquil farming community, best known for Roquefort cheese and exceptional Aveyronnaise food plus a good quality of life. Accessible only by vehicle, ideal base for exploring this region or just travelling through, however, Janet can advise and support if required by prior arrangement. We love our garden and grow fruit, herbs and vegetables, then cook, bake and eat with locally bought meat and fish. The weather due to our high altitude is unpredictable, we have snow and cold temperatures in winter, spring, summer and autumn brings beautiful sun, some rain and wind, but no guarantees.
Kitchen, dining room, lounge with television and DVD, conservatory, garden, wifi access upon request. Laundry facilities via arrangement with Janet. On a lovely day, for pleasure, we encourage our guests to visit the garden
This is our home and we welcome respectful guests to share our home and what we have, but no pressure, as we respect the privacy of our guests too. There may be others that stay with us in the summer months, so when the weather is good outdoor living is pleasurable.
During the year, cyclists use the Aveyron area because it is perfect for keeping fit, training for that all important cycle race and to watch the "Tour de France" and for sheer pleasure of being out in the open countryside enjoying the non polluted fresh air! We have had Airbnb guests cycle around the region and made a stop over at Chez Mai for rest and refreshments.
Nearby, Cassagne Begonhes has a picnic area, bars, boulangerie, Carrefour contact. Market every Friday morning.
Villefranche de Panat has a lake (swimming in the summer) and picnic area.
Requista market 2nd Thursday every month.
Rodez market on Wednesday and Saturdays. Wonderful cathedral, museums, restaurants, shops and much more.
The Aveyron boasts the most beautiful villages to visit, for example, Conques, Belcastel, Peyre, Najac, Brousse-le-chateau, Saint-Come-d'olt, Estaing, La Couvertoirade, Sauveterre-de-Rouergue, Sainte- Eulalie d'olt.
An open dialogue of guest expectations and purpose and timings of the visit/stay will help to establish an enjoyable trip.
