Kereru Studio is a comfortable space for a couple or person wishing to 'escape' for a period of tranquillity. The tidal Te Kapa inlet is at the bottom of the lawn directly in front of the studio for swimming or kayaking.
Guests are welcome to use the outdoor spa and kayaks. There is a veranda and outdoor courtyard beside the studio exclusively for guest use. Off street parking is available and our living area is off limits.
Because we live on the site there is every chance we will be present when guests are staying. Interaction would be limited to anything we can do to ensure our guests stay meets their expectations.
Mahurangi East is a peninsular which leads down to Scott's Landing. It has a lot of walks, lovely views, bush areas and native birds. In the area there are regional parks, ocean beaches, cafes, vineyards and restaurants. About 20 minutes drive away is the popular Matakana village with markets and cinemas. You are spoilt for choice in the region depending on what sort of break you want to have.
You would need to have your own transport to enjoy your stay. Off street parking is available.
We will provide travel directions and a list of local attractions which may interest you.
For tranquillity we do not have a television in the studio but wifi access is available. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster and tea/coffee making. All linen is supplied there is no cleaning fee.
No Smoking at all on the site.
No Parties or extra guests staying
We expect the studio to be left tidy when guests leave

I have recently retired and along with my architect husband have moved to our 'beach house' from Auckland City. We love the pace of life here and have also bought a couple of completely self contained cottages about 10 minutes walk away which are tranquil, secluded getaways and keeping me busy in my new lifestyle. We travel often mostly to do walking holidays or chase warmer climates in the New Zealand winter. I really enjoy cooking, reading and making things. Our hosting style is to try and exceed our guests expectations and to leave them alone as much as is possible to enjoy where they are as much as we do.
