The space is the ground floor of a colonial house built 1824. The entrance is from a side road green gate.
The ex convict Samuel Cash operated a number of illicit and legal taverns in Hobart Town in the 1820's. Centrally located about 3 blocks from the CBD. Small kitchen, bathroom and laundry - extensive deck with chairs and table and small native garden.
A cosy original colonial cottage but with all the mod cons - - the top floor ( Barton House ) is also available in Airbnb but guests there have a seperate entrance from Liverpool Street and are totally self contained. The bedroom spaces have colonial furniture and artistic themes ( with original paintings and drawings) representing its long history and more recent occupiers -famous author Captain Alan Villiers and for a year Benjii Mascola ( a current very popular Italian pop music star). Heating is electric. One small disadvantage is that the only bathroom is accessed from the veranda. For me and my family and other private guests who have stayed -this is not seen as a major problem and some believe it adds to the charm.
Exclusive use of the kitchen, bathroom, laundry, deck and veranda
one bedroom ( Captain Alan Villiers) has a queen bed. The other bedroom (Benji Mascola ) has a double and a single bed.
I may meet guests when they arrive but I will be available on a needs basis via text messages to my phone. The entrance is protected by a key code which will be available on booking.
Fitted Smoke alarms
Guests will have full exclusive access to a fully equiped but small kitchen. The rate is an introductory rate as this is a new venture to provide 2 bedrooms with access to a full kitchen, laundry, large covered outside area and (URL HIDDEN) to heritage council considerations the small bathroom is accessed off the covered and weather protected veranda.
There may be some creaking floor boards from the upper floor but the ceiling is about 1 metre thick with insulation so privacy is ensured.
Sorry no parties - no pets - no smoking- hopefully guests will remove street shoes - as said elsewhere clean slippers will be available for guest use
