Enjoy this basement apartment barely a mile from the Capitol building and two blocks from the metro to DC's finest destinations. You have your own entrance, private BR/bathroom/living/laundry room, and small fridge/coffee/microwave (no full kitchen).
Our street is located in a quiet neighborhood yet smack dab in the city, only minutes by metro to DC's most popular destinations. Dozens of restaurants are a metro stop away (or 15-minute walk) in Eastern Market/Barracks Row. The space includes an entire basement apartment. The living room area is furnished with a futon couch, mini-fridge, Keurig coffee maker, dresser, TV, and blu ray player with access to several movie/TV services. There's lots of room for suitcases, yoga, pack-and-plays, etc. Stairs connect our two apartments, but they're separated by a door. Guests have their own entrance to come and go as they please without going through the main house. You first enter the backyard gate, where there is a patio set you're welcome to use for a glass of wine or other hanging out.
You can use the entire basement area, which includes a bedroom, a bathroom, living room area, and a laundry closet. We have ample stock amenities, from hair dryers to Q-tips, and are happy to help out from our own supplies if you forgot something that we don't have ready for you.
We'll be in the upstairs apartment while you use the downstairs. We love to spend time with guests but are happy to make ourselves scarce. We're very flexible as long as we're giving you what you need during your stay.
We have a little dog who won't bother you (unless you want her to!). If you're home during the day, you'll probably hear her muffled barks from upstairs when the mailman or others come by. Also, the main heating and air conditioning unit is in the basement closet. Guests will hear it when the A/C or heater kicks on, much like a hotel room A/C. If you can't sleep with that kind of white noise, our place may not be the best fit. We're also happy to help you plan your stay before or after you arrive, including setting you up with a collection of visitor's material from DC's attractions.
We have a relatively quiet neighborhood so we ask that guests not be overly loud out of respect for the neighbors. Absolutely no smoking indoors, but the outdoor patio area is in-bounds for lighting up. We do not allow pets at this time. Otherwise, we just ask that you make yourself at home and let us know if you need anything.
