Large (400 sqft) sunny room in a spacious gutted bank with 22-foot ceilings! The room has closet space, a queen sized bed, TV with cable and HBO, and an adjacent private bath!
There's a lot of art and interesting objects to explore around the apt.
We live in an old bank that has been renovated and made into apartments. Our apartment is a duplex, with two bedrooms upstairs, and the living room/kitchen downstairs. We have 22-foot ceilings! Each floor has a bathroom, the upstairs one is for the guests' private use. The kitchen has a six burner, beautiful stove, and plenty of counter space for any cooking you might want to do! We also have a dishwasher. We have two cats, who usually stay in our room, named Kit and Kaboodle.
The upstairs has a balcony that overlooks the kitchen/living room which is a common area.
This is our home, not a hotel. Guests who are looking for a hotel experience will be disappointed. We live here, and will sometimes be here when you are. If you would like some more time in the common areas alone, please ask.
The guests will have a private bedroom and bathroom. The downstairs living room/kitchen is shared, as is the downstairs bathroom. The guest bedroom has a private TV with cable and premium channels. The washer and dryer is shared.
We work and go to school during the week, and so are gone all day. We really enjoy independent guests, and guests who are keen to explore the city.
In all honesty, we are both a bit introverted, so if you're looking for a quiet laid-back experience, this is the place for you!
We do stay home and cook most nights. We're more than happy to share the kitchen with guests! Us cooking absolutely does not mean guests are not welcome to cook with us, before us or after us, or even if we're eating! We especially love guests who cook, it's always fun to learn different recipes and ways of doing things.
There is a popular bar across the street, and some guests have complained about street noise. We bought noise reducing curtains and a white noise machine for the guest's convenience.
No Smoking! And no walking on the beams
I recently moved to California, and my, son Geoff and his girlfriend Ava, live in the apartment full time. They're both in their mid-twenties.
Geoff is a plumber, and Ava is a student. They're both native New Yorkers, so can easily tell you all you'll need to know about the city!
