Cozy, ground floor, private bedroom and shared living space teched out for everyone's enjoyment. It's a great place to come stay in the Vic West neighborhood of Victoria, just a 25 minute scenic walk downtown & buses run every 10-15 minutes.
Updated living space with dark hardwood floors. The room is large and updated with a new (2015) double bed and plenty of space to leave your stuff. The bedroom is good for 1-2 people sleeping on the bed, the sectional in the living room is pretty comfy to sleep on (I have fallen asleep on it many times). I have added a single sized air mattress that can be rolled out on the floor in the event you want to add a third person or you simply don't want to share the bed.
Access to a 109" TV with 7.1 surround sound with a huge digital library of movies and TV shows (just let me know if there is something you want or bring your own! As well as NETFLIX of course...) visitor parking in back is first come first serve, kitchen with fresh coffee from the Tassimo. Beer is found on the bottom shelf and you're welcome to open a bottle of wine from the rack... Easy 24/7 ground level access so you're free to come and go as you please (I do and so should you). Shared bathroom. The kitchen is small and I work erratically so don't worry about doing dishes or keeping it spotless. I do dishes and tidy as I can.
Regular housekeeping comes usually every Wednesday, guests can please keep items off the floor during that day so the housekeepers can minimize moving things.
I work in healthcare doing home support and come and go frequently as needed. I love to show people around the city and live in a great place to get around easily. A major bus route is right outside the door and it's only a 20 minute direct walk to downtown with a nice walk across the famous blue bridge (Watch as they work on replacing it....Eventually it'll be done?) Or add 5-10 minutes and cross the street to waterfront walkway (Songhees Walkway) and view the entire downtown harbour and waterfront as you walk along the seawall to downtown. Also a 20 minutes opposite direction walk to CFB Esquimalt, check out the museum and base and see where the ships are built too at Sea-Span!
Right on the major street connecting Esquimalt to Victoria. It's a quick hop to many destinations throughout the city while still being a quieter neighborhood (You can walk downtown in less then 20 minutes)
Two major bus routes go by providing frequent and quick trips to downtown and other locations.
Cleanliness: I do my best to keep my place clean and tidy however I work frequently and erratically and things don't always work out. Regular housekeeping service helps keep things stay on track and are coming regularly now. You're not expected to keep the place clean and usually the most that gets out of hand is the kitchen (it's small) don't ever worry about leaving dishes out, just put water in them. The bathroom is cleaned weekly by housekeeping and tidied daily by myself, if you're not happy just let me know, I can't do anything after you've left. Clean towels and sheets are always provided. Lysol disinfecting containers are also left throughout the house and are regularly used, you're welcome to use them too. Sharing a space with strangers can cause discomfort, please feel free to do as you please and you can always message me if I'm not around.
Access to a 109" TV with 7.1 surround sound with a huge digital library of movies and TV shows (just let me know if theirs something you want or bring your own! As well as NETFLIX of course...) There is also a TV in the guest room. See instructions on the back of the house manual. Parking is first come first serve in the back with additional parking across the street. Easy 24/7 ground level access so you're free to come and go as you please(I do and so should you). Shared bathroom. Wifi access throughout --> name and password in house manual. Guests access the TV's from the iPad (remote for the bedroom TV for power and volume)

If you're an up late or up early person it doesn't matter. I'm a sound sleeper and my life schedule fluctuates. You're welcome to come and go as you please, either share the space or do your own thing. Sit back and relax and watch a TV or movie. I usually have beer on the bottom shelf and wine on the wine rack, please, help yourself! Have fun! Sorry... the guest room doesn't have much of a view but the bedrooms for sleeping so not many care :P
Building key is $200 to replace. Moving to digital entry using your mobile phone for building and unit entry hopefully in early August 2017.
Smoking should be done outside.
Check in and check out times are more for standardization. If the next guest is arriving late or there is no next guest check out is whenever. On occasion guests overlap not a big deal we usually figure out a key share plan. I'm happy to let guests leave their luggage at the house while you go out exploring before departing. Just let me know your plans/intentions in your initial message or when you arrive/depart.
I live on the ground floor. It is never okay to disturb my neighbors or wander through the building except to do laundry or in a building emergency. If you lock yourself out, cannot get in, or are unable to contact me you are expected to contact Airbnb NOT my neighbors. They do not have access to my unit and should not be letting unknown persons into the building. I can be reached at any time by text or phone call and Airbnb customer service also has the ability to contact my emergency contacts.
Parking is restricted to the visitor spot (#9 and labeled Visitor) or space #1 & #2. No exceptions. If these spots are occupied I ask that you park across the street on Robert Street. It is well lit and has no parking restrictions. The area is well traveled and I have heard of no crime. It is no less secure then the back parking lot. The visitor spot is marked visitor and number 9 the other spaces are just numbered. Visitor parking is on a first come first serve basis. If you are parking for your visit and using transit/walking please leave the space open for the other buildings guests.
Friendly & Outgoing I love meeting new people and showing people the city and Island! Born and raised here on Vancouver Island I'm originally from Nanaimo and have been in Victoria about 7 years. I like a combination of outdoor, free, indoor and tours. I've only ever travelled to areas on the Westcoast so my next trips will be to the Eastcoast and I suppose overseas too! But you do get to meet a nice varied group of people through AirBnB so that will do just fine for now :-)
