Galle Fort.An exclusive five-bedroom boutique villa situated in the heart of Galle’s UNESCO World Heritage 17C Dutch Fort. This extensive colonial period property opened in 2014 brings together two beautifully refurbished villas linked through a central garden and spans from Lighthouse Street to Pedlar Street. The villas can be booked by the room or by the villa. Enter from bustling Lighthouse Street and step into an oasis of calm where old world architecture is blended with contemporary design. Walk through the reception and living rooms on to a broad verandah that skirts around the courtyard. The central focus is the large garden which is an utter luxury within Galle Fort. 22- foot tall antique temple columns reach up from the ground to the second-floor terrace and the clay-tiled roof, creating outdoor living spaces that are cool and airy. There are five modern bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms are located on the upper floor of main villa while two more bedrooms are found in the separate smaller villa at the edge of the garden. Room interiors are furnished with king-size four-poster beds dressed in fine linen, wardrobes, tables ,chairs and are equipped with a/c and overhead fans. All ensuite bathrooms have h/w showers and basins, hairdryers, amenities etc. The villa is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, museums and the heritage sites of Galle Fort. The beaches of Unawatuna, Thalpe and Habaraduwa are only a short 15-20 minutes ride away. The journey from Colombo’s international airport will take about two hours via the Southern highway.This villa can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests and can provide room for families with small children in the ground floor rooms. A minimum two night’s stay is required.
Rooms & Rates-
There are five bedrooms( a sixth, garden bedroom will be available by December, 2014) of which three are on the upper floor of the main villa while two are located in the smaller villa which opens, through a separate entrance, on to Pedlar Street.
1 Deluxe Double Room: This double room is on the ground floor of the smaller villa and opens at one end on to the verandah on Pedlar Street and to a small private garden at the other. - 166 USD per night per room all inclusive.
2 Superior Double Rooms: Located on the upper floor of the main villa, these two rooms are spacious and quiet, each with a large ensuite and both open out to the covered, teak- floored verandah overlooking the central garden, with additional small Juliette balconies over the private rear garden. - 188 USD per night per room all inclusive.
2 Superior Deluxe Suites: One of these luxurious suites is the master bedroom located on the upper floor of the main villa. Below a 17- foot high ceiling it boasts two separate ensuite bathrooms, walk- in dressing rooms, a massive super king- sized bed and French antique arm chairs and tables.
The second Superior Deluxe Suite and its small private balcony are on the upper floor of the smaller villa. The bathroom has twin vanities, separate shower and toilet and amenities. These suites can accommodate up to three guests - 225 USD per night per room all inclusive.
The rate for the whole villa-
Peak Season - 15 Dec-15 Jan 2015 inclusive - USD1,400 per night, maximum 12 people.
All other times -USD 900 per night, villa only basis, maximum 12 people.
Facilities-Relax indoors in the living room, TV room or library or outdoors on the wide verandahs of both the ground and first floors. Meals are served at the 10-seater dining table in the dining pavilion attached to the smaller villa, on the upper or lower verandah, or in the kitchen café, where guests can watch the in-house cook preparing tasty Sri Lankan dishes. Breakfast is included in the rate and dinner is available on request. There are several fine-dining restaurants and cafes that serve a range of cuisine within easy walking distance. Other in-house facilities include a lounge equipped with cable TV, DVD player, and a selection of movies; a library with an interesting collection of books; wifi internet, an iPod doc and a separate CD player. Our English-speaking, friendly staff will ensure a relaxing & memorable holiday.
