Located in the center of the historic Mott Park Neighborhood is the iconic home designed by Norbert Daugherty, who was hired by General Motors to develop the neighborhood, for his family to live in. The original 1928 loft above the garage is available for you!
This is a historic home in the center of an iconic neighborhood, bordered by a park with tennis courts on one side and the former Mott Park Golf Course on the other. The golf course is now a large green space for walking, running, or relaxing by the river.
In the summertime, guests may want to bring tennis raquets, bikes, or other outdoor activities. In the winter, cross country skiing on the golf course is always a unique opportunity. There is also ice skating available in downtown Flint.
Since the space is separate from our house, I don't typically interact much with guests in person, but I am happy to show you around or answer questions if you like! I try to at least greet our guests whenever I can, and if we both have time I wouldn't mind sharing a cup of coffee.
You may or may not have heard about the water situation in Flint. Feel free to do an internet search and you will find plenty of articles.
We had our water tested and it showed no trace of lead. However, we are still drinking bottled water and will provide it to our guests for the time being.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
I just expect you to respect the place and treat it gently. This is the way that we are able to keep costs much lower than hotels. Thanks for being considerate.
My wife and I love traveling, but with three young children we mostly have been helping other people travel these days, which we also enjoy. We like to go for walks, try out new restaurants, watch movies, and watch our kids explore the world.
We try to be available to our guests as much as possible, but also respect their time and space. We don't assume that our guests came to see us! But we do enjoy meeting people and making friends from around the world. You are welcome here!
