Huge suite: Explore, then relax! Pillowtop king size bed + 2 bonus futon sofa sleepers. Bathroom in suite has large jetted soaker bathtub (in open area), doored privacy toilet, private double shower heads and 2 vanity sinks. Walk in closet + dresser. In our popular, multi-guests Burro Flats High Desert Lodge (other travelers in same home).
Our main floor luxury suite with private, en suite bathroom is our premier guest space!
You'll be able to stretch out and relax in the exceptionally comfortable, king sized, fourposter bed with top of the line pillows designed to support and cradle your head and neck.
There is a very quiet overhead ceiling fan above the bed, the switch for it is on the wall.
There are also 2 convertible sofa futon sleepers in the room.
The smaller sleeper, when converted from a loveseat to a bed, measures 71 inches x 45 inches (nearly 6 feet x almost 4 feet); that's 180 cm x 114 cm.
The other, slightly larger, full/double sized futon sleeps two people close together (72 inches x 48 inches).
We went to great lengths to find the most comfortable and sturdy sofa sleepers that money could buy; we truly want our suite guests to have an outstanding experience!
The slightly larger futon is in the same area as the main, king sized bed.
The other is in the big-enough-to-be-a-small-bedroom walk in closet with its own door and large, curtained window that faces the front yard and street.
Between the two sleeping areas (main area and closet "bonus room") is the large, mostly-open-to-the-room (but private from other guests) bathroom complex. The toilet is in its own, small, doored area. The suite also contains 2 sink vanities with mirrored medicine cabinets, a Jacuzzi jetted soaker tub for two (right in the middle of the room), and a large shower stall with two nozzle heads. The walk-in shower has an opaque shower curtain at its entryway for privacy.
Your suite will always be prepared just for you with fresh bedding, towels and washcloths.
Please let us know in advance whether you plan to use either or both of the futons; we will gladly make the futon(s) of your choice into comfortable bed(s) for you with extra padding, clean 100% cotton sheets, comforter(s)/blanket(s) and fluffy pillows! We love to prepare for visitors! :)
We have GREAT, fast wifi Internet and cell phone service (except Sprint doesn't get good reception here).
Central to all local, scenic areas including:
Zion - 1 hour
Bryce - 1 hour 20 minutes
Grand Canyon (North Rim, opens May 15 to Oct 15) - 1 hour 15 minutes
Lake Powell / Page / Antelope Canyon - 1 hour 15 minutes
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary - 20 minutes
For this suite, open curtains for wide-open views or close the curtains for privacy.
Our spacious master suite is the perfect spot to rejuvenate!
Basic toiletries provided (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bubble bath, hair dryer, toilet paper, facial tissue, baby wipes, paper towels).
Master suite guests control their own thermostat (located in the main floor great room) and a space heater is provided to make the tub and shower areas especially warm and inviting.
Our recommendation: A nice, long soak or hot shower after a day of hiking or sightseeing really takes the strain off of sore muscles!
Condition of room: Please be assured that the room will always be meticulously cleaned for your arrival! :) There are a few signs of wear on the floor as well as some small, permanent marks in the tub and some superficial cracks in the tile shower bottom. We just want to let you know about these cosmetic-only flaws so that we can provide an accurate picture of the space. :)
Enjoy your master suite and bathroom complex in privacy, or pass through the interior door to take advantage of the large, furnished common areas including fully outfitted kitchen (bring your own groceries, please; usually only cooking oil, a few basic spices, coffee and assorted condiments are provided).
There is also a shared living room with large cable TV, pool table and covered, outdoor balcony deck with garden table and chairs, electrical outlets, gas barbecue grill and sunset views.
It is quite usual for us to have AT LEAST 5 guests in our home on any given night. With five guest rooms, Burro Flats High Desert Lodge is like a very small hotel.
We live in the lower level (master suite is on main floor) with private living quarters. So guests will mainly only see us at check in, check out, if they have any questions, or occasionally in the common areas of the house.
There will likely be guests also staying in other rooms of the house. Interaction with other guests will probably occur in the common areas.
The living room, pool table, front door to the house, dining room, kitchen and a half bathroom are also on the main floor along with your suite.
Other guests would be sleeping on other floors and, often, spending time in the main floor common areas. So come on out if you would like to chat and make some new friends!
We welcome guests of all ages, language, culture, heritage and lifestyle; this is a welcoming, social and friendly environment.
Sometimes it's difficult for other guests to tell whether the master suite door is closed because you've gone to bed for the evening or simply have your room door closed for privacy. If you are trying to rest and are being kept awake, please just nicely mention that you are ready to go to sleep and ask everyone if they wouldn't mind keeping quiet for the rest of the night (they will all have been informed that quiet hours begin at 10pm at night, but sometimes it's hard to realize that they can be heard). This is very rarely an issue, we are mentioning it just in case because we want you to have the best experience possible! :)
NO SMOKING, pets, candles or fireworks anywhere on property, inside or outside, and no guests inside the donkey field (petting through the fence is okay).
Quiet hours start at 10pm (sound travels in our large house, even through doors and walls, because of the hardwood floors and open floorplan). So please after 10pm at night, no TV, pool, banging of pots and pans in the kitchen, loud talking or laughing, music, etc.).
Please help us protect our space by leaving your shoes inside the front door, using drink coasters under beverages and closing windows when you leave to explore for the day. Thank you! :)
Children of any age most welcome, although common areas are not childsafe, so caution and supervision should be exercised.
Rowdy play, sports or rough housing outdoors only, please. Guests responsible for damage.
Please do not park in or block small, concrete driveway or garages.

Hi! We're Nicholas & Celeste Meyeres, and our home that we share with visitors is Burro Flats High Desert Lodge! We adore the Southwestern high desert, nature, wildlife and meeting new people!
Nicholas is our hospitality expert (before welcoming guests full-time in our home, he was a manager at a top rated country club in Kansas for 6 years, then the Hospitality Services manager for 10 years at Best Friends Animal Society)!
Celeste is a knits designer who has created over 6,000 scarves, throw blankets, etc by hand: Including a shawl for Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac. She owns CricketsKnits (ask if you're curious to see her "yarn dungeon" basement studio during your stay!).
In 2013 we bought a huge home on 3 acres with nothing but open country and spacious views behind (and GREAT wifi connection!).
This home and location makes us feel so happy and free and that is why we love to share it with visitors :)
We live in the downstairs of the three level house (the 2nd largest in Kanab), with separate kitchen, bathroom, et cetera, so you'll mainly only see us at check in and check out (when we welcome you and then when we say "Bon voyage, see you next time!") Unless, of course, you'd like to ask questions, get directions or just chat; we're here for you at *your* level of comfort. :)
We welcome responsible, easy-going guests of all ages, language, culture, heritage and lifestyle.
Unless you reserve the entire upper two floors, you will most likely be interacting with other guests in our home during your stay; this is a friendly and social environment with everyone being considerate and cohabiting peacefully. Our home has a sort of super nice hostel feel, or like a B&B except with a DIY, bare-bones breakfast. :)
