This bright space features the work of well-known Northwest artists, Jeff Wallin and Donna Lautenbach.

Apartment has its own security system, hot water heater, and washer/dryer.

The space comfortably fits a couple with a hideabed in the living area for an extra guest.
Ceilings are low, but met code at 6'8" with a slightly lower height in a small area. Skillful lighting enhances the airy, spacious feeling.
Families with a child are welcome. Baby gear available upon request. Parks, toy store and library within walking distance.

Keyless entry; code will be provided.

This pied á terre is situated in one of most popular neighborhoods in Portland. With a walk score of 100, within a 20min walk you can reach theaters, award winning restaurants, cinema, chic bars, and the world famous Powell's Bookstore. It's half a block away from the trendy NW 23rd Ave where shopping and sidewalk dining are abundant.

Two blocks away there's the streetcar that then connects with the Max rail. Bus stops in two blocks in all directions.

Keyless entry; code will be provided.

With two separate entrances, the guests will have their own privacy. The master bedroom is spacious and the bath is ensuite. The mattress in the master bedroom is medium in firmness. A mattress topper is available for those guests who prefer a soft mattress.Guests sleeping on the hideabed access the bath through the master bedroom. The hideabed makes a double bed, not queen. Although children are welcome, this would be a difficult space for children at the exploring stage around two years old on account of the glass doors and easy to access drawers in the kitchen. Parents might not relax easily. The host is delighted to answer questions at any time.

It's half a block away from trendy NW 23rd Ave where shopping and sidewalk dining are abundant. A gourmet grocery store, a world class bakery and a fabulous chocolatier are nearby.

Good Samaritan Hospital is a block away and Oregon Health Science University about a fifteen minute journey by car.

Two blocks away there's the streetcar that then connects with the Max Rail. Bus stops in two blocks in all directions. It's a few minute bus ride to the Pearl District and then to downtown. Trains can connect to Seattle from the nearby station. Public transportation can be taken to the airport via MAX from downtown which is a bus or short taxi-ride from the house.

Parking is available on the street and parking is available in the driveway. It is suggested that rented vehicles are not oversized if guests want to be comfortable parking in the driveway. This fun neighborhood is Portland's answer to Union Street in San Francisco so parking is at a premium. It is usually possible to find nearby street parking. The hosts have four tandem parking places in their driveway, but we have found it is mutually easy for guest and host to block each other unless schedule information is shared by the guest. If guests are able to inform the hosts of their exit needs, they can be accommodated in the driveway with pleasure.

Ingrid’s flat was in a perfect location in the Nob Hill neighborhood. It is incredibly walkable to shops, coffee, restaurants, public transit, and even downtown and Washington Park. The space is beautifully designed and very comfortable. Ingrid was very responsive and check-in/check-out was a piece of cake. We will be back for sure!

This apartment has a beautiful modern design but still felt so cozy. The kitchen has all the necessities and then some. The hosts have thought of every little detail. The apartment is in a great neighborhood that is very walkable - easy access to restaurants, bars, grocery/market, and shopping. If you’re looking to explore outside of the neighborhood, there are multiple bus and streetcar stops within a stones throw that will get you almost anywhere in the metro area. The communication was excellent before and during the stay. Ingrid was very responsive with any issues that popped up and was very accommodating with a couple special requests. Overall our stay was excellent and we would love to stay here when we visit again!

My husband and I have stayed at dozens of air B&Bs and this is far and away the best experience we have had! The home is in a beautiful, walkable, fun area, and Ingrid gave us great suggestions for food and attractions. The actual home was amazing; from the quality linens, to the kitchen appliances nicer than what I have in my home, to postcards from Portland and stamps already laid out! We let Ingrid know we were traveling with a little one and the amount of care and thoughtfulness with which Ingrid laid everything out was nothing short of remarkable. From toys to books to high chair and portacrib already assembled. It was as if we were staying with a good friend. I can't say enough about this great getaway. We hope to go back.

We are an architect and a retired teacher of students with reading disabilities. I'm from England and my husband Dick is a native Oregonian. We greatly value activities with our large family. I look after my one year old grandson two afternoons a week. Our small mountain farm by Mount Adams brings a lot of peace, joy and much needed agricultural practice. We have a career changed guide dog who is a light of my life. Dick loves to design buildings, some we live in. He knows how to build almost anything. I love to draw and paint. Dick volunteers for historic preservation of Timberline Lodge, in planning for the needs of emotionally disturbed children and for the school district. The Ducks football team is a passion for him. I volunteer with my dog in the area of pet therapy at the local hospital, and for Guide Dogs for the Blind. Sometimes, I tutor people with learning differences. After finding I had some French left from my childhood, I began French lessons which I continue to enjoy.

Throughout my life I have traveled a lot. Although I grew up in England, my grandmother's farm was in the North of Norway, near the Arctic Circle so I went there quite a bit as a child. Subsequently, I spent a year as a teaching volunteer in East Africa, a place always in my heart and which has inspired me to be involved in international volunteerism. Over the years, I have been to Costa Rica, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Hawaii, Australia, Greece, back to England, France and Switzerland. We often travel to meet with my brothers who live in Australia and New Zealand. My brothers are very skilled at organizing and researching for vacations and always know a lot about transportation and housing options, local history and culture.

Dick and I like to travel for as full a cultural experience as we can. We tend to avoid tours and hotels and like to have home stays. We fly often, but some of our best times have been had on canal barges in France and England, and, for me, on the chicken buses in Central America.

An avid reader, I've recently enjoyed Alice Munro, Anne Patchett and Barbara Kingsolver. A favorite book was Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese. With a view to understanding my parent's lives, recently I've been reading histories concerning the Great Wars of the last century, including the works of Winston Churchill. Dick and I differ in our movie tastes mostly because I don't like to watch violence and bad language which eliminates a huge percentage!. He chooses films like the Bourne movies whereas I went to see Iron Lady, Philomena and Saving Mr. Banks this year. In the past, we have had season tickets to the local repertory theater. With two career musicians in the family, we listen to a lot of jazz and rock music. I like classical music, too, and the opera.

Our family is 'foodie'. We have a lot of good cooks, including nearly all the men. Luckily, we live in a part of the country where there is a lot of interest catered to by amazing farmer's markets, restaurants and talented home chefs.

When traveling, we hope we are good guests. We have a great interest in our hosts and try to be culturally sensitive, responsive and responsible to each environment. As hosts of friends and family from all around the world, we have the goal of 'mi casa es su casa' and 'let's make it fun.'
