The neighborhood is alive, dynamic, and surrounded by Key West History - unquestionably the most intact Old Town Key West neighborhood on the island. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance, and Duval Street is only two blocks from the property - close enough, yet far enough away! Ft. Zachary Taylor, located only two blocks to the west of the property, is a National Historic Park and boasts the nicest beach with the best sunsets on the island.
The Main House is a (2) story 100+ year old, recently completely renovated Conch house. The design of this property lends itself perfectly to small gatherings of families and friends.
The house can comfortably accommodate a maximum of ten (10) guests - (2) queen beds, (1) full bed, (1) twin bed and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.
The house has an open downstairs floor plan, and four (4) private bedrooms upstairs. There is a downstairs wrap-around porch, and a complimenting upstairs wrap around balcony, both of which overlook the pool, Jacuzzi, sundeck and Thomas Street.
The house has a full kitchen (all cooking and eating utensils), Samsung side-by-side refrigerator (icemaker and serve thru ice and water dispenser), GE microwave, Whirlpool dishwasher, Corian countertops, maple cabinets, Braun coffeemaker, Krupps toaster.
There is a full size washer, and a full size dryer located at the rear of the house; and a stainless steel propane barbecue located on the pool deck.
The house is completely furnished with linens, towels, central A/C - ( 2) 2.5 ton Tranes), (6) 52" Hunter ceiling fans, cable TV, ADT Security System (24 hour central monitoring), (2) Sony 32" flat screen HDTVs, (1) Samsung 40" SMART flat screen HDTV, ATT Uverse U300, Sony DVD/CD player, Panasonic CD/AM/FM player, and secured high speed wi-fi internet access.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed, clothes closet, dresser, 52" Hunter ceiling fan, and a Sony 32" flatscreen HDTV (ATT Uverse U300).
The second bedroom has a full size bed, clothes closet, a dresser, and a 52" Hunter ceiling fan.
The third bedroom has a queen bed, and dresser, and a 52" Hunter ceiling fan.
The fourth bedroom has a twin bed, a dresser, a 52" Hunter ceiling fan, and a Sony 32" flat screen HDTV (ATT Uverse U300).
The five (5) house compound is private and secure with a 30' x 10' heated main pool including a 5' x 10' heated Jacuzzi. In addition, there is a private 10' x 8' heated Jacuzzi. There are brick walkways, and a 40' x 10' sun deck, including a stainless steel propane barbecue, chaise lounges for sunbathing and relaxing; and tables and chairs for dining. Throughout the property there is secured wireless internet access, and 24 hour cctv security monitoring.
The landscaping is lush including various tropical palm species, Poinciana, Spanish limes, avocado, bananas, hibiscus, bougainvillea, halliconias, bromeliads, and orchids, brick walkways.
The gated compound is within easy walking or biking distance to everything in Old Town Key West, located at the corner of Thomas and Angela Streets - two (2) blocks from the center of Duval Street. In addition to being within easy walking and biking distance to Duval Street, and the best entertainment & dining on the island, the vacation property is located two (2) blocks from Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, the best beach and picnic area in Key West.
CHICKENS & ROOSTERS
The City of Key West protects chickens and roosters, and considers them as part of the history and charm of Key West. As a result, Key West and many of the islands throughout the Florida Keys have free-range chickens and roosters. You will definitely see and hear chickens and roosters during your stay in Key West. Some visitors to Key West love them, and some visitors hate them - personally, I enjoy them best roasted, with plantains, and black beans and rice!
There is an on-site property manager that lives on the property and is available twenty-four (24) hours a day to answer questions, unlock doors (if necessary)...or drink a beer with you.
You, your family, friends and guests may come and go as you please, anytime during the rental term. We do require that all guests staying on or using the property, register with the owner prior to arrival. The house will be inspected at the time you receive the keys, and when you return the keys. You will NOT be responsible for the house or the property, prior to receiving the keys and/or once you return the keys.
All rates described on this site are based on a thirty day rental term in accordance with the City of Key West rental ordinance; discounts apply to monthly rentals. The minimum stay may be less than thirty days and the maximum stay may be longer than thirty days. The City of Key West requires that I rent the house to you for a rental term of thirty days or longer, during which time only you, your family, friends, and/or guests, have sole and exclusive use of the house.
According to my attorney and the City attorney, if I rent the house to you, and you, your guests and/or friends only occupy the house for less than the entire rental term, the house must remain empty for the rest of the rental term - and the house may not be occupied by any other persons or leased to anyone else.
I travel as often as possible, with my beautiful partner (who completes me) - we always seem to gravitate to water and good people. We enjoy historic settings, renovating old buildings, and a good bottle of wine...or two.
