Enjoy an inner city unit close to Merivale. The living and main bedroom both open onto a courtyard. Architecturally designed wooden single story – safe and sound. Heated by a heatpump and full sun in the living area.


Cosy 2 bedroom villa with recently updated bathroom. Open plan kitchen and living area opening to a private courtyard.


You will have access to the whole unit and a car park down in the car port


You will be emailed arrival instructions approximately a week prior to your stay with lockbox details. We stay in contact with our guests via email, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) and our websites, we are available if you have any requests or have any issues throughout your stay. Please contact us on (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) if you need help with anything. Otherwise we will leave you in peace.


There are heaters and extra blankets in each bedroom for extra warmth and comfort.

By staying in one of our holiday homes you agree to the following:
Privacy Policy:
We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Under no circumstances will the details of guests be shared amongst individuals nor be distributed to third party organisations without prior consent.

We reserve the right to charge a bond of $500.00 to your credit card upon confirmation of a booking. If paying by bank deposit a bond of $500.00 will be taken on confirmation of booking.

A higher bond may be specified if you have a large number of guests, pets or other special circumstances.

Data collected from you while making this booking will be used solely for securing your booking. We use industry-standard encryption technology that handles your sensitive information securely during the booking process. Your transaction will be done through Direct Payment Express which is our secure payment gateway provider Christchurch Holiday Homes 3/14 Acheron Dr, Riccarton Christchurch 8041.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations by guest within 14 days of arrival date forfeit 100% of the total booking price.
The cancellation policy also applies to changes which decrease the overall value of a booking, for example decreasing the number of guests staying or shortening the length of stay.

Moving a booking to a future date may be possible. Before cancelling please contact us to discuss this option.

Fair-use Policy:
Unless otherwise stated, the fair and standard use of all utilities & internet is included in the tariff for your stay.
Where unfair or excessive usage occurs the estimated cost of excess usage will be billed to the guest.
Examples of unfair or excessive usage include leaving appliances running for unnecessarily long periods, leaving appliances such as air conditioning or heaters running while a property is unoccupied or while windows/doors are left open.

Any damage must be reported immediately and any costs will be charged to the booking guest.

Internet Usage Policy:
Free WiFi internet is provided at most properties for web browsing and communication.

This service is not provided for heavy streaming or downloading and the viewing or downloading of illegal content is strictly prohibited.

Legal usage - It is the responsibility of the booking guest to ensure that the internet at the property is used for legal and reputable purposes only. If there is any illegal usage, the booking guest will be held fully accountable for this illegal action and any resulting fines, administration & reconnection costs will be charged.

Guest Numbers & Responsibilities:
No parties.
No use as a function venue.
Booked guests only.

Homes must not be used as party or function venues, or sublet in any way. The neighbours are not to be disturbed by excessive noise or numbers of visitors.

Homes are made available on a per person basis and only for guests that form part of the booking. We reserve the right to charge if you are found to have extra guests staying at the property after 10pm.

The guest booking the home must be over 18 years of age and will be responsible for the conduct of all guests and visitors, any damage and/or additional cleaning that may be required.
No pets or business use of the property unless arranged prior to your stay.

Extra Amenities:

If you require a portacot or highchair please let us know. We can organise this at an additional charge of $40 per item per stay. Please note you will need to bring your own cot bedding.

If you have requested a BBQ or if there is a BBQ at the home you are welcome to use it. This needs to be cleaned upon your departure otherwise a cleaning fee of NZD $50+GST per hour will be charged, this is our hourly rate for any additional cleaning.

Guest Responsibilities – on departure:

Please note this is a holiday home and should be left in a clean and tidy state in order to avoid additional cleaning charges. Upon departure ensure the following:

- Dishes clean and put away

- Linen is to be left on the beds and used towels in the bathroom

- Please dispose of any rubbish in the bins provided

- Lock all doors, close windows and return keys to lockbox provided leave secure

Rubbish: Place your rubbish in the bins outside the house:

Yellow lid bin: Recycling - any bottles and newspapers

Red lid bin: Any other general rubbish

Green lid bin: compostable green waste (food scraps)
Smoking: Please do not smoke in or near the house. Please dispose of your butts in a rubbish bin.

Please leave a key in the lockbox if you are out. If you lose the key there is a charge of $50 to have another key cut.

Check-in & Check-out Times

Standard check-in is anytime after 2pm on your day of arrival.
Standard check-out is by 10am on your day of departure.
Early or late check-out may be possible on request.

We had a lovely stay in this well-located villa on the outskirts of Christchurch - 5-10 minute walk for coffee at the nearby Merivale village or 15 minute walk down to Christchurch with several places for morning breakfast - we tried our Procope Coffee House on Fendalton Road, and Pure Coffee on Bealey St near Durham St North. For dinner one night, we picked up lamb chops and smoked fish, a carrot, couple zucchini and sweet corn at the Fresh Choice market in Merivale village and cooked a yummy meal at the villa. Hosts Richard and Sue were accommodating to meet all our needs and we felt most welcome.

Overall we had a fantastic stay (2 weeks). The place is clean and generally met all our needs. The location is great with walking distance to shops and getting to the city by bus is quite convenient. Host was very prompt with communication and accommodating to us.

This holiday home was better in real life than it appeared in the pictures. It is situated in a very nice area in a quiet street. It is part of a series of 5 simliar units that are attached to each other. There were no issues with noise and the private coutryard was very welcome. The house was clean and tastefully furnished. It is compact but worked well for us over 6 nights. When we contacted our hosts we received prompt responses and the management of the home was very professional. We would rcommend this home.

Gordon Villa 2 was really comfortable & convenient. There is a wee courtyard which catches the sun, a car port & is easy walking distance to the shops. Arrangements were straightforward (key etc.) - nothing to fault. Thanks

Location is absolutely great with cafés, restaurants and Merivale mall within 5 mins walking distance, super convenient! House is very clean, comfortable and located in a quiet street. Definitely good value for money for what we wanted!

Our stay in Christchurch was for two nights at Gordon Villa. This holiday house was quite nice - spacious, close to shops, and features such as aircon/heater, washing machine and wifi. Great if you want to feel at home on your travels. We did encounter some issues with pet hair and a couple of kitchen items that hadn't been washed. The large hot plate on the cooktop and the main bedroom light were not working during our stay. We also had to purchase dishwashing liquid, sponges, oil, salt & pepper, hand soap and laundry detergent from the nearby shops as these were not provided. This felt like a bit of a waste given the duration of our stay. We left these items behind when we checked out. The property manager initially offered us a discount for future stays. Next day, she kindly offered for us to stay at another property, Carlton Villa - however, the last guests had checked out that morning and the property was not ready for us when we arrived later in the afternoon, so we moved back to Gordon Villa. Sue gave us a small refund for our troubles - thank you.
