The flowers are blooming, so come sit on our large verandah with a glass of Yarra Valley wine. The country air is divine.
The Guesthouse has:
- 6 Queen ensuite rooms (if you require extra beds please let us know as we do have rooms at an extra cost)
- Exclusive use of the guesthouse which consists of a:
- dining room,
- library/tv room,
- sitting room,
- kitchen (with prior arrangement)
- large verandah which overlooks the garden.
We provide breakfast supplies for both mornings.
(Please note if you would like us to cook you breakfast the cost is 980 per night whether it is a week night or a weekend. We are very happy to do this for you, but it must be booked in advance )
When you stay at the Guesthouse you will have exclusive use of the guesthouse and its garden. It is the perfect place for group and family gatherings, as there are plenty of spaces to socialise or nip off for some time on your own. Artists love coming here as it always inspires people to relax, unwind and let their mind wander.
The gardens are extensive, so there is opportunity to have garden picnics or just bathe in the sun, or dine in the elegant dining room.
A BBQ is on the wide verandah, for you to also use.
We have a beautiful peacock, chickens and horses. As well as being surrounded by the local wildlife of wombats, wallabies, and many native parrots and other bird life. This is truly a unique and beautiful place to stay. Away from the troubles of the world.
We live on the property site but our house is separate from the guesthouse, - just a walk through the garden. If you need us for anything we are a text or a few minutes away. We are only present if you need us.

We are happy to help you plan your wine tour and drive you and your group in our mini bus to the wineries that suit your taste. This must be booked in advance.
We hope you can take the time to visit us at Strathvea Guesthouse as we are situated in a rare forest of the tallest flowering trees in the world as well as tree fern that can be as tall as a 2 story building.
You can feed the colourful parrots, and if you are lucky, they will land on your hand or shoulder.
Any breakages or damage to the property must be paid for.
All rubbish must be placed in bins or removed. Cleaning costs will be incurred if these rules are not adhered to.
Children must be supervised at all times. No running in the guesthouse is allowed. Please make sure that the children treat the guesthouse and its items with care.
These rules are coming from experience and previous guests who have not shown appreciation and it is very upsetting.
Strathvea Guesthouse is a quiet, tranquil place to visit. So we expect our guests to appreciate this atmosphere.
If you are wanting to party in a loud way then the guesthouse probably wont be the place for you. But saying this, the Guesthouse is perfect for family and friend gatherings, birthdays, weddings. And we love acoustic music and anything creative and explorative )
Deanne is a practising artist and actor, her husband Toby is a story teller and singer. They understand that beauty, peace and quiet, and nature is what can make a holiday memorable and worth while.
